Good restaurant for young kids, no dining plan

We're looking for a sit-down restaurant that is good for young kids (18 months and 3.5 years) and for adults too. My parents will be with us and we want to share a Friday night dinner together. So something fun, young kid-friendly and good! We won't be on the dining plan. Even though I booked our reservation before June 24th, I didn't think the free dining would apply to us. Dumb me - I'm still a newbie.:sad2: Any ideas on restaurants?

WCC is a favorite for our family. Everyone loves it, from dd5 to FIL (50). It's really fun and casual, and the all you can eat skillet is down-home-rib-stickin' food. It is a bit rowdy, so you might want to skip it if you're looking for a quiet meal, but otherwise I recommend it 100%.

Actually, WCC is one we were considering. I'd rather a casual atmosphere like that, where I wouldn't get nervous if they aren't super quiet. Thanks!

Oh my you are going during free dining it might be hard to get a ADR at this point. I would say and character meal would be fun for the kids, but i would get on the phone soon to see what is still open. During dining resaurants book up fast. Good luck

I'm not too worried about ADR's. I called yesterday and was able to schedule Hollywood & Vine for lunch (had many times open). And we already have Cinderella's lunch and Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique scheduled. We're only going to be at Disney for 4 nights before heading to the beach. But we're flexible if one restaurant or another doesn't have openings. There's enough restaurants there and we're not too picky.

:rotfl: Nobody is super quiet at WCC...or even remotely quiet! It is great for kids b/c they can make some noise and they encourage them to get up and participate in the fun. When we were there the kids had a stick pony race around the restaurant, were taught to hoot and holler by the servers and were called on to bring crayons and ketchup to anyone who asked for it.

Before getting your heart set on something, I would get on the phone and see what is available for that Friday night:confused3 . Wcc, Chef Mickey, Ohana, etc., ask the CM to check for character meals, etc. and if the schedule of one is best, then you've found your restaurant, if you have a choice, maybe you could post a poll to gather opinions.:thumbsup2

My choice would be a buffet...it's hard when we travel with family members, and with a buffet, there is always something for everybody, even the pickiest eaters. Plus your 18 month old will be able to eat free. If you get to a character buffet, that's of course a much added plus for the kids too.

WCC is a good suggestion...our DS (2) freaked out there. It was a little too much for him with the pot banging etc.

lets see..there are so many great places!!! Chef Mickeys is quite popular, Ohana is a must do for us, Crystal Palace...maybe Garden Grill??
