We are looking to do a weekend trip to Henry Ford Museum in Oct and have never been. Can anyone tell me about a nice hotel, clean, good price, with indoor pool and a free breakfast would be nice.

It will be adults only no kids. It may end up being a girls only weekend.

We would like the hotel to be near by or within a few miles.

Thanks for any help.:thumbsup2

My mom lives there and when we go to visit we always stay at the Best Western in Allen Park (The pink palace) There is also a yellow Holiday Inn next door. They both have packages for Henry Ford/Greenfield village. They both have indoor pools.
Both those hotels are off 94.

have fun!

A good price is going to be relative to you.

I grew up in Dearborn, so I'm familiar with the locations, but really haven't stayed in the hotels. We have visited for events and the restaurants.

The Hyatt Regency used to be the nicest hotel in the area, however not the cheapest. This fall it will no longer be a Hyatt though. Worth checking out.

The new nice place is "The Henry". It used to be the Ritz-Carlton, but that would be considered the nicest hotel in my mind.

Both are very close to the Henry Ford. Don't skip Greenfield Village. I like it better than the museum. Also check out the IMAX if that interests you.

The Dearborn Inn is really "onsite". Also probably in the pricey range though. This is a walk to location.

If budget really is the contraint, I'd point you to one of these:
* Comfort Inn Greenfield Village
* Courtyard by Marriott Dearborn

If you start looking at other locations, I wouldn't go for anything East of Mercury drive. East Dearborn and into Detroit can get a big dicey. Some of the neighborhoods have gone downhill in a big way. Maybe check up and down Telegraph road for a hotel.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Anything on Telegraph is just as bad as East Dearborn and into Detroit.. Not as safe as it use to be.

We like the "pink palace" Best Western too. It is a nice balance between price and amenities, with a decent pool (and my favorite part - an hour of "adult only" swim each evening) and a good location. I don't think they had free breakfast, though; they have a fridge and microwave in the room so we packed cereal, milk, fruit, and popcorn for breakfast and evening snack.
