I want to get DH Rock Band 2 for his birthday in Feb. What is a good price? It can be for either Wii, XBox360 or Playstation 2. I found a price of $99 (plus $19.99 Shipping) from Gamestop. Amazon is a lot higher.

We need the whole shebang (drums, microphone, guitar). We have some guitars from Guitar hero, but don't think those will work???

Is there any benefit to buying one version versus another? (Wii, Playstation 2 or XBox 360). Anything different?

So no one can say if $118 is a good price for Rock Band 2?

I haven't been keeping track of prices because I didn't know DH wanted it.

I do remember seeing RB2 for the Wii for $99 during the Christmas sales.

I paid $150 or so last Christmas when it was released. We have DEFINITELY gotten our money out of it. Was a gift for my husband, and he has said when he opened it, he thought, well this is going to be a waste of money. Now we play religiously with the neighbors. Even rang in the new year with a band session.

I purchased Rock Band 2 for Playstation at Best Buy for $99 just before Christmas. I think the XBox version was at least $20 more. They did not have the WII version in stock when I was there.

I bought Rock Band 2 for $90 this summer at Target and I recall seeing it for that price just before Christmas as well.

Do you have a local Gamestop? They probably sell them at the store for the same price you see online, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

This may possibly answer your question about compatibility http://www.rockband.com/compatibility.

I just checked Walmart.com and they have it for $88 with free site to store shipping (estimated $9.50 to ship it to my house). Prices may vary at the B&M Walmart.

We just bought RB2 for Xbox 360 for Christmas at Best Buy for $99. The ones for Wii and PS3 were also $99. I did see them online at Walmart for $88 but not sure of the shipping or if you can get that price in the store.

I think it's a good price. We bought it on ebay for $120, but it had 2 guitars. My son loves it! I wouldn't buy it for the ps2 only because I think you'll have the possibility of getting more additions to it with a newer system. With our Wii one, we have wireless for the guitars and the drums. I don't know if you can get that with the other systems or not.

All RockBand 2 versions are wireless. Some of the originals are wired, and one of the original guitars for Wii, you would have to put the Wiimote in the back to connect it.

Wii generally seems to be the more expensive of the versions, but they're all the same for the different systems. We have the Wii version and a friend has PS3 version and I see nothing different. You have to be Wii friends with some one in order for them to join online (I think), but when we were playing on the PS3 some other dude joined in the band when we were trying to play with our friend's brother in another state.

It seems the guitars on PS3 are more compatible to the other games like band hero and guitar hero. So you might just only need the game, if you've already got the guitars.
