Good price for rental car???

I am going Oct 1-8 and picking up at MCO dropping off at Disney and taking Magical Express back. I have never rented before so I have no idea what a good price is. Right now I have $219 with an intermediate at National. I signed up with that emerald aisle ( I think its called that) but it was like a 100$ more! They charged me a funny fee for what I think was a different drop off. But didn't if I just did like I didn't have that. Make sense?? I only see one discount for the entertainment coupon, even though I put some other codes and stuff in. So I guess my question is do you keep putting it in every couple of days and seeing if its lower? Do you make a new reservation and cancel the old one? Or will it just check your old reservation for you? Thanks in advance!

I'm traveling about the same time you are and I'm looking at renting a car for the frist time ever so I will share with you what I found.

I'm traveling during a similar time to you (Sept 24-Oct 6) and I just wanted to rent a car for a few days, but it is cheaper for me to rent it for a week. I found out that it is more expensive to rent at MCO and return it to somewhere other than there. So I decided that I would rent a car from National either at the Car Car Center (by the MK) or the Dolphin Hotel. Here are the rates I got for a 1 week rental using the priceless code (Contract ID 6600330) and the entertainment coupon (Coupon ID 10009123). Also if you have not already purchased the emerald asile membership there is a link for a free one on the mousesavers page for National.

If you do not need the car at the airport take the Magical Express to your resort and then rent the car (you will not be charged the drop off fee then). Also from what I have learned you can check rates constantly and book a new reservation and then cancel the old one with no penalty.

I would keep checking prices with National as your travel date gets closer. I am currently booked with National for June 22-29. I have a intermediate @ $107.81 with fees figured in. I got that price using the codes from Mousesavers.com

Alamo doesn't charge an extra fee for a one way rental, which are always a lot more expensive then a round trip. I would start checking prices there. Why don't you just keep the car for the whole trip and drop it back off at the airport when you are done?

Check the website every week or so. I think it is a little early for October booking, there don't appear to be any good deals right now.

I booked our early April rental in late January (about 10 weeks ahead of time) and got a $110 rate ($140 after all taxes) for an intermediate. This was with Budget - I could have gotten about $5 cheaper with Thrifty (offsite).

We are leaving a couple weeks after you (10/15-10/22), and the best rate I'm finding right now is Thrifty at just under $200. If the price doesn't come down to at least $150 we will be using ME or a Towncar company since we are stying onsite the whole trip.

Good luck to you - I'd keep trying until you get it down to at most $175 (all taxes included).
