Well, we have plans to hit the World again in August of 09. Yeah, it's a little early for planning but I like to dabble.

We currently have a 1990 Coleman Sequoia. It's done us well for the last 3 years, but we're ready for an upgrade. Along with the air that we're used to, we want 2 king bunks, fridge and toilet. I've got a year to decide what we want!

My question is... what is the best loop for a popup? We'll need good shade because we'll be there in August. I assume we'll need sewer since I'll have a toilet onboard and we'll be there for 17 days (the comfort station will get old after a week.) We don't have pets and I just don't want to run the risk of an incessant barking dog near us (we get that at home).

I'm going on a solo trip in January and thought I'd pop over to the Fort to check out any suggestions. The only time I've stayed at FW was in a cabin, so this will be a new adventure for us.

Any of the Nonpet loop are great for any type of camper, But if you want to save a little $ 1500 & 2000. These site are setup for tents and popups they only have Elec.& water and the site have a bigger spot for setup.

The 1500 loop IMHO has the best location, but it does back to the 1600 loop which is a pet loop. However in the couple of times we have stayed in a pet loop we've only once run into the "yappy" bog neighbor thing and that for for like a week during the day.

we have a popup, with bathroom and no pets. We stayed in the 800 loop and didn't have any problem with barkers. Also, if you can, invest in Popup Gizmos - they are a lifesaver for combating the heat in a popup.

I've looked into those. They look great. I'm sure we'll need them. They'll look better than the silver emergency blankets we've used in the past (which only last one time)!

Also looking into an add-a-room screened in area to keep bugs at bay.

Thanks for the info guys! Any more would be helpful and appreciated.

Looks like we won't be going until August 09 - so LOTS of time to plan.

Just as an fyi, loop 1500 does not have sewer. We have a Fleetwood Utah pop-up and we love the 1400 loop, it is a preferred non-pet loop right next to the Meadows area. You can always request a site on the side of the loop further away from Meadows if you want things to be quiet and have less foot/golf cart traffic but it will also be further from the CS as that is right by the campfire program.

The 1400 had pets this weekend. They say it's not a pet loop but they will put em in there during peak times. My friends who were there in July had two dogs.

We liked 1400 also. It's too far to walk to the marina (for us) but you could bike it. It was nice to be near the pool & campfire.

We have an add a room for our Fleetwood/Coleman Santa Fe. It's a PIA to put up. At Disney we didn't use it at all, just the awning. The bugs there aren't bad, and we didn't hang around enough to need it.

One thing the AAR is good for is directing the flow of traffic. It keeps dirt and sand in one place where you come in so you can put an extra mat there or what we have - a plastic carpet protector runner from walmart. It keeps the sand from getting all over our rug. Without the AAR people come in from all sides and it makes a big mess. Could just be I need to train 'em better.

We stayed in our Coleman Utah in the 1900 loop at Thanksgiving and loved it. It was shady, quiet, and we were right across from the bathhouse.:goodvibes
