Good Pizza at Walt Disney World – Really?

Color me crazy, but DBF and I actually don't really mind the pizza we've had there. The only one that readily comes to mind is Pizza Planet, and while we didn't think it was spectacular, it wasn't bad either, and we certainly enjoyed our lunch there. However, I'd definitely enjoy a different serving place for pizza, perhaps with more options and "advanced" pizzas.

I'm just gutted it won't be open for summer when we embark on our second attempt to drink around the world!! A nice pizza would have been a good stomach liner :lmao:

:goodvibes

Honestly, if I eat a Pizza on property it's because I want something cheap, not something good. They're livable but no great shakes.

If I actually fancy a pizza, I go off-site and pick up a Flippers pizza...

Always enjoy the pizza at Pizzafari. Is it the best pizza in the world? Don't believe so, but its good, and the restaurant provides a nice place to cool off after walking around a hot park. We always eat on the dining plan, so I feel as though its a pretty good value for us. :thumbsup2

I think a week ago there was also another thread about this new addition to the Italy pavilion. Personally I think american pizza and italian pizza are so different (not saying one is better than the other one, they are just different). I really doubt they can make authentic Italian pizza there are so many factors (from the dough, to the ingredients) but we'll see ;). I like both so it really doesn't bother me. The only pizza that I didn't like was the pizza by Pizza planet. But I think it will be nice having an authentic Pizzeria in the Italian Pavilion.

I believe the pizzaria will be run by the same company that runs Tutto Italia. Since it won't be "Disney" pizza per se, I bet it will be better than the other pizza on property.

I know it's been mentioned on the podcast, but the pizza around Disney World suffers from the water used to make the dough. Hopefully, the pizzaria will do something about that problem and the pizza will come out tasting good.

We've found in general pizzas at WDW are better than what you can get in the UK so to us it's all good :goodvibes The only pizza I didn't like was the one where we asked for olives and pepperoni and we mushroom and pepperoni

 DH was so excited about the news of the new pizzeria at Epcot that he sent the link to me in IM yesterday. He's a "pizza-person". Normally, I can take it or leave it and usually order chicken wings when he orders Pizza Hut. It will be nice to have a new counter-service option in World Showcase (in addition to the expanded one in Mexico). DH and I ate at Tutto Italia for the first time this past year. It was REALLY good. I have it booked again next week for our WDW trip. So, I am curious what they will do with this pizzeria and how "authentic" the pizza will be. Neapolitan pizza is suppose to be "original". Being a non-pizza person, I can't wait to try it! :thumbsup2

I would say that if we're talking traditional "American" pizza, Disney doesn't have good pizza. That being said, I love the flatbreads at places like California Grill, Jiko and Todd English's bluezoo™. They don't qualify as "pizza", but they come pretty close.

Really? I don't think pizzas over here are all that bad.

WDW's pizzas are still a step up from what they serve at DLRP however!!
