Wanting to cut our trip down a bit - at least on the way! What is a good campground between Birmingham,AL and Orlando. Thinking in the Tallahassee area?

We stayed there overnight in June 2011 after a marathon drive. We did the late check in, did not talk to anyone and left early in the morning. Sites were not paved but the power was good (ran both a/c's). I was able to easily navigate at night through the campground (extremely tired). Park was quiet and we able to get some sleep. I do remember it was about 2 miles after the exit on 10 which I thought I was getting lost! I did the KOA campground in 2011 because I had to run the a/c all day and wanted to give the generator a rest. We had so much fun in 2011 that we returned in 2012 and I chose to stay the rest stop at exit 60 of of I-10. The weather was cooler and I felt safe to park with the 24 hour security. After making the trip twice in the rv I will only stop at a campground if I need the hook ups (weather). Hope this helps

We stop at DoveRestRV park at Marianna, Fl. off of I-10, A short drive from Dothan.

We enjoy Torreya state park campground in Bristol Fl. Very scenic and we could have stayed several days. Look it up on Florida state parks website:yay:

You may want to try Tallahassee RV Park in Tallahassee. It gets good reviews. They are east of Tallahassee at exit 209A.

Also, you may want to try Yogi Bear Jellystone Park a Madison. We have stayed there. It is good for an overnight. Exit 258.

We have stayed at both KOA parks in the Tallahassee area. Both were great for an overnight stop.

I am guessing you are going down to hit I-10. I live out between Anniston and Bham and we got to Atlanta and I usually stop at Valdosta Oaks, it's a nice RV park with a lot of pull throughs and is a Good Sam RV park. We get in late in the evening, just plug up and sleep. We then get up and make the what 3-3.5 hour, drive, depending on stops. We will be heading out this May 30 and doing this route, unless the one through Dothan. Please share about this route, I would like to check it out if it is a better route. By the way, are you from Bham?

Richard

Ended up making a Dessie at big oak RV park. State parks all booked
