Good On-site, Non-Park spot for a Nighttime Drink?

Hi. My wife and I are going to the World at the end of January for a week. We're taking our daughter, who's a few months shy of three years old. We're also going with my wife's parents and staying in a large off-site condo.

I expect that there may be a night where we're able to go out without our daughter after dinner. The parks aren't open super late, so I thought it might be fun to check out a resort. My question is if there any good bars or lounges at a resort that would be worth checking out for a drink. Our preference is warm and casual places that are comfortable. We're not looking for a cool nightspot.

I'm pretty familiar with all the restaurants but don't know as much about the bars. I'm love to hear some suggestions from this knowledgeable crowd.

What do you think?

Can't wait to see your answers. We always took our niece or nephew along and this time going alone so we want to do the same thing one evening!:thumbsup2

Tambu Lounge - you can get a Lapu Lapu :cloud9: (see below)

It's at the Poly (gorgeous!) up by 'Ohana.

My first choice would be Port Orleans, Riverside. Stop in an watch YeeHaw Bob. You can bring the whole family. If you want to enjoy the music but not be part of the action, there are some cozy seating areas further away, too.

Second Choice is Victoria Falls, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Since you'll be without your daughter, I'd suggest Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. It's a dueling piano bar and it's 21 and over. After a long day at the parks, gotta love those "stroller-free zones"!
My second choice would be a bar at DTD, such as Paradiso 37. They have really cold beer.

We had good experiences at the bars over at the Swolphin. Il Mullino at the Swan had some nice pizza offerings on their bar menu. Over at the Dolphin, we were at Blue Zoo and had a mixture of appetizers.

Raglan Road in Downtown Disney.
Great entertainment, lots of beers on tap and cocktails too. Just a big, fun, loud, Irish place. Fantastic atmosphere. NOT quiet, so don't go thinking it'll be romantic! It can be, but in a different way ;)

The lounge at bluezoo is our favorite. Second would be Il Mulino and 3rd would be Mizners.

A fav of ours.

You can also order a drink at the pool bar and walk out to the Poly Beach. We watched MK fireworks this way. It is one of our favorite memories!

There is also Rix Lounge at Coronado Springs. It has more of a nightlife vibe with a DJ Thurs-Sun I think.

I agree with everything you said. The bar at WL is also nice and a fun resort for a stroll.

Have a lot of fun, OP.

:)

If you want a calm and quiet area I'd go with the Crews Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club. My other selections for calmer and quieter would be the Bellevue Lounge at Boardwalk (they don't serve any food) and the Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge (I've found the bartenders there to be generally awesome). The Tambu is generally craziness because of 'Ohana's proximity. But it's a fun craziness.

Lapu Lapu - orange juice, sour mix and rum. Lots of rum. served in a pineapple. If you want to save a bit of cash and have one without the pineapple, order a zombie.

My favorite lounges at the various resorts are the Crew's Cup at YC and Victoria Falls at AKL. I also like going to the bar at Il Mulino.

Thanks! It's been great to read all the replies. It would likely be a quieter place where we'd want to go, especially after busy days in the parks, but all the suggestions have been great. I've been taking notes for sure!

Hello to a fellow St. Louis dweller! We love the lounges at WDW and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Here are our favorites:

Belle Vue Room at the Boardwalk (intimate, nostalgic and usually pretty quiet)
Victoria Falls at Animal Kingdom Lodge (comfortable bar and you have the option of taking drinks outside to spot some animals)
the lounge at Bluezoo (upscale and fun)
Territory Lounge at the Wilderness Lodge (comfy and rustic; you could take your drink up to one of the many alcoves on the floors above the lobby for a great view and some alone time)
Mizner's at the Grand Floridian (great orchestra music, low lighting, very romantic)

Have a wonderful trip!

There is a lake side bar at Coronado Springs resort which is very pretty when lit up at night!
