Good news, Westerfield gets death penalty

I can not admit to joy over the loss of any
life. To me-there is no joy in this very
horrible story. The twisted part for me is
watching the glee over the death penalty.
Although I do not draw direct connections-
it reminds me of the disease Westerfield and
others have experiencing pleasure in the killing
and torture of others. This man may deserve
to die but celebrating his sentence seems
very dark IMHO.

As I said earlier, under the facade of Pixie Dust and love around here, there also is a DARKNESS :( :( :( :( :( . I would never celebrate another man's death as "GOOD NEWS".........

Why should society get a life time sentence of keeping killers alive??? Society is victimized by the crime and shouldnt be victimzied while the criminal leads a easy prison life!!! And once a life term is given the other prisoners and guards can be harmed with impunity as no other sentence more drastic can be imposed if their isnt the proepr penalty available liek the death penalty.
As for pro-life/pro death penalty their is no comparsion as one is the death of a innocent child for the convience of a supposed loving mother and the other is proper punishment meted out to fit the crime committed!!
I for one will be extremely joyful and happy when this criminal finally is put to death, the sooner the better!! Then he will no longer be able to victimize another family.
The people who feel sorry for him like some here i hope are going to become his penpal while he is in jail and if he is ever released will invite him to live in there household.
And those of you who are wrongly against the death penalty(IMHO) im sure are against abortion as that is also the taking of a human life and are doing all you can to stop NARAL and their campaign to kill as many innocent children as possible. Because if not those would be the true hypocritics!!!!!!!!!

Adam,

I made the point that Justice Department figures show that on average, states with the death penalty have higher per capita murder rates then states that don't, and most countries with the death penalty have higher murder rates then those that don't.

It's not a "theory"; it's a fact, and I don't see how the situations you cited even pertain to what I what wrote much less "disprove" them. . .

What does the law in each individual state have to do with a person killing someone? I think that many people have said here before that the death sentence does not server as an effective deterrent from people killing. It servers as a deterrent from them killing again. The contrary of that is that jail time does neither.

So what do the justice department figures say about people from other state going to another state(s) and killing? How does that figure into the picture? Or people going to another country and committing a murder? What is you point do you think that murders even care if the state has a death sentence or not ?

Hopefully he'll get his in San Quentin and they won't have time to put him to death.... sick freak.

Just so I get this straight, if I'm anti-death penalty, then I have to be anti-abortion? I see, because the state decides to abort the baby, right? A woman goes before a jury and a judge and they decide for her.
Yes, I see the similarities.

As always God does not keep a person in the dark about how people truely feel. Their are alot of people here with VENGEFUL,HATEFUL HEARTS. It is a sick minded person to rejoice over any death. Where is the Good news in that. It is morbid to even think of such a thing as being GOOD NEWS:rolleyes: I may be out of line here but really how would some you PIXIE DUST:rolleyes: WHAT WOULD WALT THINK:rolleyes:   AND MAGICAL WISHING PEOPLE THINK IF IT WERE YOUR CHILD ON DEATH ROW. I am sure your words would sting like heck if they were thrown back in your face against someone you love.

Think if it were your INNOCENT HELPLESS child who was stolen and already killed...

I love my kids more than anything and anyone EXCEPT GOD who is first in my life. If I was the parent of a slain child even thru all the grief I STILL WOULD NOT WISH THE DEATH PENALTY ON HIM OR ANYONE ELSE. So it still does not make it right to kill a person no matter what the crime is. I would not wish it nor would I rejoice over it. I would let my God Deal WIth HIm. The biggest problem on this earth today is that theRE are TOO DARN MANY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY GOD WHEN HE DOES NOT NEED OUR HELP. WE NEED HIM AT LEAST I KNOW I DO. I DEPEND ON HIM FOR JUSTICE NOT MAN.

Well thats where we differ I guess. I don't believe in God and my child comes first before anyone...

Well Preshi I am not here to change your beliefs but, one thing I do hope you do take to heart- There is a God rather you believe in him or not and he is a Jealous God who does not appreciate anyone or anything put before him. Just as he giveth he can taketh away NO MATTER WHAT IT IS

we3luvdisney,

I didn't really want more quotes when I asked you to explain. I just wanted for you to explain to me what it meant. Seriously, I don't understand what it is that is trying to be said! You're not helping me any by giving me more quotes that I don't understand.

If you are trying to make a point, maybe you should give a bit of your interpretation with your bible quotations.

This thread is so sad. My heart aches for Danielles family and Westerfield is a horrible excuse for a human, however I do not believe in the death penalty and even if I did I would not be joyful at the thought of an execution.

Fine, no death row for anyone...just make prison the way it should be... a deterrent. If you kill someone, it should be 14 hours a day of hard, back breaking labor, no tv, no education, no visits from family or freinds, nothing but work and sleep and bad food. Make prison a fate WORSE than death. Make it self supporting so good law abiding citizens aren't forced to support murderers.
JMHO

I could totally live with that perido. Sounds like a great plan to me.

Charles Dickens to the Editor of The Times, Letters. Nov. 13, 1849

I was a witness of the execution at Horsemonger Lane this morning. I went there with the intention of observing the crowd gathered to behold it, and I had excellent opportunities of doing so, at intervals all through the night, and continuously from day-break until after the spectacle was over... I believe that a sight so inconceivably awful as the wickedness and levity of the immense crowd collected at that execution this morning could be imagined by no man, and could be presented in no heathen land under the sun. The horrors of the gibbet and of the crime which brought the wretched murderers to it faded in my mind before the atrocious bearing, looks, and language of the assembled spectators.

When I came upon the scene at midnight, the shrillness of the cries and howls that were raised from time to time, denoting that they came from a concourse of boys and girls already assembled in the best places, made my blood run cold. As the night went on, screeching, and laughing, and yelling in strong chorus of parodies on negro melodies, with substitutions of 'Mrs. Manning' for 'Susannah', and the like, were added to these. When the day dawned, thieves, low prosti_tutes, ruffians, and vagabonds of every kind, flocked on to the ground, with every variety of offensive and foul behaviour. Fightings, faintings, whistlings, imitations of Punch, brutal jokes, tumultuous demonstrations of indecent delight when swooning women were dragged out of the crowd by the police, with their dresses disordered, gave a new zest to the general entertainment.

When the sun rose brightly-as it did-it gilded thousands upon thousands of upturned faces, so inexpressibly odious in their brutal mirth or callousness, that a man had cause to feel ashamed of the shape he wore, and to shrink from himself, as fashioned in the image of the Devil. When the two miserable creatures who attracted all this ghastly sight about them were turned quivering into the air, there was no more emotion, no more pity, no more thought that two immortal souls had gone to judgement, no more restraint in any of the previous obscenities, than if the name of Christ had never been heard in this world, and there were no belief among men but that they perished like the beasts.
[/B]

I thought this was a very moving piece and deserves reading by the blood-lusting crowd here. As most of them have Eros on "ignore", maybe someone WILL actually read it.

I usually keep my mouth shut about this topic, but I just have to speak up and say how much it saddens me to see people so happy about the death of another human being. Regardless of your stance on the death penalty, to be joyous when someone is sentenced to die is pretty disturbing, IMHO. You can still be for the death penalty without being excited to see it carried it out. :( :( :(

<font color=navy>After being on the fence about the death penalty (kill vs. murder), I'd have to say that in my heart, I am against the death penalty. I just don't believe we have the right to put a person to death - I don't believe that that is justice.

However, I do agree with perdidobay, and if I had any say in it, convicted murderers would lose all "inalienable rights" as defined by our US Constitution, and would spend the rest of their lives, with no chance of parole, and something darn close to what perdidobay said:

14 hours a day of hard, back breaking labor, no tv, no education, no visits from family or freinds, nothing but work and sleep and bad food. Make prison a fate WORSE than death. Make it self supporting so good law abiding citizens aren't forced to support murderers.
