good news tsa rethinking pat downs

The major networks and the Associated Press are reporting another apology, to an older gentleman who is a bladder cancer survivor. The TSO doing his patdown knocked open the seal on the passenger's urine bag and it leaked all over the man's clothes. He ended up having to fly like that.

THAT kind of publicity is just deadly; Congress will act if TSA doesn't dial it down on their own.

Really don't understand the complete dismissal of behavioral and criminal profiling. Huge difference between that and racial profiling- which we all agree is wrong. If they put that in place they would only have to pat down Grandma if her behavior was suspicious.

For the kids and those with medical issues, TSA should have a medical professional available who could do the pat downs. I still don't see how they get around disability privacy laws and force people to disclose medical histories and prosthetic breasts. I think it would be more palatable if it was done by a medical professional.
Yes, I don't get what they're doing to the disabled or people with medical reasons/

Yes, and he's not the only one with humiliation due to a medical issue. I just heard on NBC that the utube video of the 7 or 8 yr. old boy that had his shirt taken off (NBC said TSA made him remove it, I had read previously that his father took it off since the boy was upset with being touched-not sure which way it was but it doesn't matter) almost 700,000 views since I guess yesterday. Something has to be done. The issues have only really started since the new 'enhanced' patdowns started Nov 1. The machines have been there and I guess when someone opted out and regular pat down and no problem before Nov 1.

yes, but in the end profiling is profiling I guess. That's how it always ends up being protrayed since whoever is profiled makes that case. Hard to explain for me.

Yes, there are many. There is another where he even compared the workers to something really odd. That was in USA today, I believe. It seems that the problems are not localized leading me to think it must be the training process. Seems like many airports are involved with the complaints.

Yes it seems like they didn't take that much time t train them or think about how this would be put in place. If two agent can't do the same thing it a problem every agent should do the pay down the same so you can't say well when I took off the Agent didn't feel ke legs and now you want to. It make the agent look like he doing something wrong to you. They need to fix that because if every agent would be trained the same then mybe it would make it easier for people to understand what to do. It make it easy for them if they say this is what you need to do and what you can bring and so forth then tell each agent that what they are allowed to do so everyone on the same page. Plus it dosnet rake training for the agents to be nice.

I know. How about the flight attendant that had breast cancer. I guess enogh is enough with this. Was it the bra? do they at least tell you?

I know. So embarrassing for her. They didn't tell me anything, just checked where the underwires are in my bra. Maybe next time i'll go with the sports bra or the tank with the bra built in. More comfy anyway.

Yes, doesn't take training to be nice, so can that be part of training? or are they all just like that? seems like the complaints although different are similar in attitude etc.

Actually the man that had the urine and the bad empty is on Fox News now. Poor thing had his underwear come down with their procedure and had to ASK if he could put the up and then fly wet since they dislodged his bag attachment.

The ones (alkada don't know how to spell want to) are bragging now saying their methods are to cause a great problem with aviation industry-not mass kill. I guess make us run around like chickens without heads. I guess that is the meaning of terrorism-cause everyone to be terrified, not necessarily kill us all!

and hope something else doesn't make you be picked. No skirts/baggy clothes and who knows what else.

Forget the airlines, they can go under and take the TSA with them. I say just move you and your family all to Florida and never have to use them at all again.

Now that a good problem solver I don't know if Disney could handle that many dower leavingthat close.

Yes, we drive there so no problem for us now for going to WDW. I'm surprised the airlines haven't spoken up I guess they may if this keeps up or less fly like Napalitano said to if we don't like her process.

I totally like the moving to Florida part, but how would I get to Hawaii:thumbsup2

Now that we all move to Florida I hope Disney securty won't install the scanner to catch people taking the 3d glasses.

Mybe they could have mickey and the gang handle the pat downs to make it more freindly. I mean disney could build a huge scanner and as the tram pass they could see everyone at once.

Maybe, but they don't have to make anything. The vans already exist! Many are here in the US (I think the original ones went to Iraq and Afganistan) No problem to get them.

yes cbp use them at the boarder they have ones that can go 3 mph and scan the whole truck or car. PLus they other trucks that have a arm that comes out and scan the whole truck or car. I thought disney could build a themed one that amkes you feel like your going through a magic tunel and the other side will be the park.

Donald Duck and a few others have already had issues with their version of pat downs LOL

Seriously there needs to be some middle ground, the procedures that are being used are only making air travel more difficult. It needs to be streamlined in a way where its not only efficient and effective but also less intrusive.

Like it or not the current procedures are going to end up hurting our tourism industry as many people might consider trips to other countries that have less intrusive procedures.

Yes, what a magical day that would be! Maybe they could do photo pass, too! The vans are being acquired by local police now as well!

But on a serious note, who even a few months ago would have thought this would be the process to board a plane here in the US. If we had to do go thorough this process in a foreign land, just what would we think. We would be saying we were an American.
