We went to the neurosurgeon and he saw the MRI and told us that.. yes it is a legion but he is positive it is benign. Although he wants us to have my DS have a more sophisticated MRI with and without contrast in 2 months just to see if it has changed. The MD. thought as long he does not exhibit symptoms ie : seizures( in this type of mass in the left temporal lobe) This will not cause any problems. It is not that accessible anyway and unless it was magniliant and caused him to have life threatening siezures at that time he would go after it. He told us to relax. We are both RNs and have worked in and out of nuerosurgical units for the last 20 years, we know too much about what couild happen and we are just sighing with relief.!!!

thats great, I couldnt even imagine how scary that was for you

That's wonderful news. :teeth:

Joe, that is just the BEST news!!!

I wish you and your family the very happiest holiday season!

This is so good to hear :) I have been praying for your son since I seen you other post. I am so happy that this is the case. Oh how elated you must be after that stress! Merry Christmas.

:) I'm glad the dr gave you some good news.:)

My SIL is an NP and my brother is an RN. They've shown me a few times that sometimes it's knowing too much about medicine that puts an additional strain on your nerves when faced with personal medical situations.

Joe - great news! Thanks for the update - I was wondering how things were going. I know what you mean about "knowing too much". Both of my sisters are RNs, one brother is a Resp Tech & I'm an X-ray Tech - yup, knowing all the possiblilites are frightening! Try to relax and have a joyous holiday season!

Great news! Thanks for the update. I had been wondering how your son was doing. I will continue to pray that all goes well.

What a WONDERFUL Holiday gift for you and your family!!!!

So glad to hear your good news. My cousin, Joe, who is 49 is dying from a glioblastoma, and I was so worried for your son. I too am an RN, and unfortunately, know all the terrible possibilities. I am thrilled for you that everything looks okay. Have a wonderful Christmas!

What wonderful news. An early Christmas gift for you.

That is great news! I hope it continues to be good and he suffers no ill effects at all. :)

:bounce: :bounce: Merry Merry Christmas!! :bounce: :bounce: Short of having the doc say it was just a scratch on the screen, that's probably the best news you've heard in a long time. Continued prayers that it causes him no problems. I was speechless when I read your original post -- couldn't begin to fathom such a nice guy having to face such difficulty.

Great news, a real relief for you all. My prayers will remain with your boy that he remains well and improves completely. A Merry Christmas, Joe.

Everybody.....:grouphug:! You must be sooo relieved! I know I am!! Happy Holidays!!!

:cool1:

What a relief! I'm sure this good news will make Christmas a lot more fun for you and your family.

I am so happy to hear that your son will not need surgery. Thanks for the update.
