We stayed at this hotel last November and really ended up liking it. It was a last minute trip and I was able to get a $49 web rate. While it didn't have the beautiful grounds that the HoJo did and the rooms weren't as large it was great for a short weekend stay. The free breakfast was nice and the best part was that short walk! Also, you have a perfect view of the fireworks from the pool area and since you are up higher it can't be beat. If you can get a good rate and want basic acommodations it is great. If the HoJo is the same or only a little more and you don't mind a little longer walk then that is the way to go IMHO!

I've stayed there, too, and it was fine. I liked the Candy Cane better, but when CCI was full, it was a fine substitute.

Stayed there in 05,and will stay there again.(dd wants to try Tropicana next year though).

I'm surprised it's helpful because the Park Inn changed its name to the Camelot Inn quite a while ago. I hope no one gets confused by looking at this year-old thread. :confused3

My thoughts exactly. Its always been confusing with so many hotels having "park" in the name. Now this one is a totally different name and I wonder if maybe someone did a search for what they thought was a completely different hotel.

We have also stayed there and had an enjoyable stay. Unlike others I would stay here over Hojo any day. We were not impressed with Hojo, it seemed so dated and our room was not clean.

This is where we booked for next January. I wanted three beds and walking distance to the parks and was able to get a room with a King attached to another room with two queens. It looks like it will be quite spacious for me, my 20 year old son, and my sister-in-law. It's great to stay on budget and all get our own real beds.

The other property I was considering was the Park Vue Inn, very close by. They have three triple queen rooms. They weren't taking reservations for our dates yet, though, and DS thought both looked great., but liked the look of the Camelot Inn a little better, so I'm just going to stick with this.

Take a look at trip advisor. They have tons of review, most favorable.

I'm looking forward to staying here. I was staying about a mile and a half away but wanted to be able to walk to the park. I saw that they charge for parking per day and I wasn't thrilled about that but it's still cheaper than parking in the DL parking lot. I like the idea of watching the fireworks every night from our hotel since we won't be at the park everyday. I'm hoping the Good Neighbor status makes their customer service good. I love that it's right at the park main entrance!!

We thought walking distance would be great too. And the fireworks viewing if we aren't in the parks. I'm not overly keen on parking charges, etc. either, but as long as I know all fees and charges ahead of time, I'm OK and just use that in my overall cost per property when doing comparisons.

I booked for Camelot as well DaisyBell911, and I think we're both in the October group. Parking isn't a concern for me, so that wasn't on my list, but I am surprised they charge for parking when so many of the other resorts in the area do not. I picked Camelot by, listing what was most important to us, distance was number one, and free breakfast was number two. This lead me to 4 resorts, I then ranked them by trip advisor and price. Plus it's just DH and I, and we sleep in a King bed at home, so we prefer a King bed when we're on vacation, many of the other hotels only had queens. Soooo, Camelot, was the winner. It's super close, has free breakfast, a good ranking on trip advisor, a king bed and was affordable. We won't be there much anyway, so as long as it's clean, I'm happy.

We stayed here in October and loved the easy walk to DL! If the self parking is full, there is valet for the same price. I felt the spaces were slightly tight for my full size SUV. The staff was friendly and made right an issue about my booking.

I thought the rooms were bigger than the website pics showed. Basic room though.

We loved watching fireworks from the pool deck. I liked how the pool looked on the site, but in person it was much smaller than I thought. The temperature was in the 70's but the pool water was sooooo cold that I couldn't bear to get in.

One thing though...it didn't offer free breakfast when we went. How are you getting free breakfast?

Hope you enjoy!

Oh snap, it looks like you're correct, and they did away with the free breakfast last year. Well crappy crap. Looks like I might be making a phone call as that was a big selling point for us.

I had been planning for a DL trip with my cousin's family from Orlando (they've never done DL), my brother, & his best friend's family from Utah...15 of us!!! Eeeek! Free Breakfast was mandatory on my list because of that additional expense.

From the top of my head, I remember the options were the Best Westerns, Grand Legacy (used to be Ramada), Residence inn, Annabella, Desert Inn And suites. I know there are more out there.

We got a great deal on Anaheim Desert inn And suites...our rooms sleep up to 6. Across the street near Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn (?).

Another factor to me was parking costs. I expect free wifi.

Sorry for the bad news but good luck. I scoured Trivago to shop best rates on multiple sites. In the end I went directly to Desert inn And suites' site and found my deal. Turns out my hotel/motel wasn't available on those sites.

I really was hoping for the free breakfast too but since I'm not usually a fan of hotel breakfasts, I decided the proximity was enough of a selling point to bite the bullet. Its only me and the BF so I'll find a store and grab some fruit and yogurts for the room and I should be go to go then.
