Hi Gang!

We are driving to Disney from Tampa area and looking for a good place to stop for lunch before hitting Disney World. We fly into Tampa and will be making the drive to Disney around lunch time. Any advice for a good place to eat would be appreciated. Maybe bbq or seafood. We are from San Diego so looking for something we don't usually have over here.

Thanks!

Another option would be Columbia Restaurant @ Ybor City. http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/ They have plenty of seafood dishes. The Ybor City location is the original. The food is fabulous & the restaurant is very pretty. I haven't tried the others, but I've heard the YC location is the best. You won't drive past it on the way to WDW, but it's not far off the Interstate. This way you get to see a bit more of the city too. Make sure you have directions.

Lee Roy Selmon's is also a good suggestion.

Thank you for the great suggestions! we will be in Tampa for three days then off to Disney for a few days before returning back to Tampa for a cruise. We will give those restaurants a try...sounds yummy.:thumbsup2

I was just wondering what would be off the freeway from Tampa to Disney to break up the ride (traveling with little ones).:)

The drive from Tampa to Disney is really not that bad. We flew into tampa a few years ago because it was cheaper than Orlando. We were a bit worried about the drive to Disney because we had little ones too. It actually took us just under an hour and was a very easy drive. We actually are flying into tampa again this year . . . I know this doesn't help with any restaurant choices but wanted to let you know that the ride is not bad at all . . . have a great trip!

I have to agree that The Columbia is an amazing restaurant and it's authentic Florida for sure!

What kind of things were you looking for off of the interstate? Like the other poster said, the drive is not bad at all and it shouldn't take you more than an hour. Traffic is really not bad at all during that time of the day. You'll be ahead of the rush hour traffic and should have smooth sailing!

Was looking to break up the ride to Disney but sounds like it should be a easy ride:thumbsup2 Thanks for all the help!! I appreciate it!:)

Houlihan's off of 192 in Kissimmee is an excellent choice too!!!!!!!!!!!!
