NOT condoning what he did at all.....he is a loser and a perv.

But I have a question about her: didn't she somehow have her prior husband Randy Taubman relinquish all rights to their son Jack? I think she somehow drug him through the mud about finances and wound up paying off his debts if he gave up all rights to his son. When Christie married Peter, he adopted Jack. So....just saying....this poor kid has been through alot already...I am sure he knows about the biological dad. It seems that she may be quite malicious when it comes to her many divorces. Just wondering if she was somehow trying to get this guy to do the same thing...and he refused...so she said she would go public with everything????

I think the concern here is that Peter had an affair with a woman who is younger than his own stepdaughter...who he (supposedly) physically harmed. That's a little disturbing - I can understand why Christie wouldn't want him around her younger children.

Something like he got mad because Alexa Ray was taking a shower and some water leaked through the floor, so he pushed her head into a bucket while he was telling her to clean it up.

Why, when 2 people dont want to be married anymore, do they drag the children into it? I mean, just because you want to divorce the person, why does it mean that the other spouse is now not qualified, or loses their right, to raise their children? I just dont get it. Getting divorced and custody, imo, are two totally different issues.
IMO, the person who files the custody suit should be the one scrutinized, because now, not only are they unable to maintain their marriage, but now they are openly admitting that they are unable to co-parent.
I just dont get it. Maybe its just me, but it sounds sometimes, and awful lot like "your mother/father did me wrong, and now you cant see them anymore."

Yikes. This is the most naive thing I have read. You think divorce can be tied up pretty with a bow and a judge's signature? If one spouse can prove the other parent is not fit, you better believe they will take it to court during a divorce. The person who files the suit shouldn't necessarily be looked down on. They are probably filing because they want justice! And it is not always them who is unable to maintain the marriage, its the OTHER spouse.

Divorce is an ugly business and 90% time ONE of the spouses does not choose to divorce.

Wasn't the break up of her marriage to Billy Joel because she was caught cheating on him? I seem to remember something about a helicopter crash and her being with some other man. While I hate to see the kids dragged through this nonsense, it does make you wonder if it's karma biting her in the butt that current hubby was caught cheating on her.

This what I found on People from 1995 regarding CB and her post-BJ husband (the accident is the ski accident you remember):

Brinkley was in the 10th year of what many outsiders thought to be a dream marriage to rock star Billy Joel, 45. As she eventually told Taubman, the reality was different; the marriage, Brinkley said, "pretty much disintegrated the last two years." The reasons were many: Joel wanted to remain on the East Coast, Brinkley longed to move West, closer to her home state of California; she wanted a tight-knit family with Alexa, their only child, he was often on tour. Despite the affection they still felt for each other, she said, the marriage "wasn't working." She and Joel had already come to an informal agreement to split when, last March, a mutual friend of Brinkley and Taubman invited her and Alexa to Telluride. The other man was Taubman. They were on one of those wilderness ski adventures (I don't think it was as companions, just on the same ride) when the helicopter crashed. They turned to each other in the aftermath. She became pregnant and they married. After the wedding and the birth of the baby she found out he refused to work or be a responsible parent or partner. They divorced.

Actually I think Taubman committed some crime or like embezzlement or something shady from his past that Christie found out too late.

I feel bad for CB. She does pick them. Billy Joel's current wife was on Paula Deen and I just had trouble with it. She is two years older then his daughter and he wasn't young when she was born. He's in in his early 60's I think and she's in her early 20's. I was going to post on the how old is too old thread that this is the point where I got uncomfortable. When you have an older, wealthy, well established man married to a girl who hasn't even found out who she is yet. She seemed very sweet but it just was creepy. So Joel wouldn't be able to say too much about her current h being with young things.
