Well...................

I cheated, but it's the GOOD kind of cheating!!

Sunday is my "official" weigh-in day, but I was SO close to a big milestone loss for me..............

that I cheated and weighed again this morning.

TWENTY POUNDS is my cumulative loss thus far!!!

I never ever imagined I would get to this point so quickly!

My motivation is SO strong though, I don't see myself failing this time.

:)

Had to let the people who are my motivation know that their support is helping me get through this so well!

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Congratulations John!

You are an inspiration to us all. Question: What kind of physical activity is in your routine? I wonder about how men can loose so fast. My DH can lose 2lbs./week, while I'm lucky with .5 to 1lb./week. We do the same routine, in fact, I know I do more! We have also trimmed the same # of calories. (Not consuming the same but are at the same calorie deficit.) I always hear about how having more muscle helps you metaboize, and lose more rapidly. Are the odds stacked against us women, due to lack of testasterone, and muscle? It would be a glowing testament to the benefits of exercise and strenght training. Men also tend to be able to keep off weight with more success than women, and any woman I know who is successfull at keeping her weight in check credits it all to exercise/muscle increase. Just wondering what your take on the situation is. Any input on this would be appreciated!

Tracy

Congratulations John!!!!!!!

That is awesome......and I don't think it is cheating!!!! I weigh in tomorrow and I am hoping to hit the first 5 pound mark, I "cheated" on Saturday and was at 3 pounds, so lets hope it is another two by tomorrow.

Keep up the good work, you have a lot to be proud of!!

Tracy,

You are going to want to slap me for this...........but I really do not do any physical activity outside of my day-to-day things at work. Admittedly it is not a totally sedentary job, but I don't feel like I do an enormous amount of strenuous work. (Don't tell my bosses that) ;)

The only thing that I can guess might be a factor in the Men Vs. Women difference (this is just a layperson's guess) , is the different ratios of body fat between the sexes. I am doing Atkins, and since it burns body fat as fuel, maybe if this plan is compatible with your lifestyle, it is worth checking out?? At least maybe read the book to learn the science behind it? I was a skeptic about his plan before reading the book (which my Best Friend got me to buy), but after reading it, it made a lot of sense. It has worked for me so far, not claiming it is for everyone, even my Best Friend has decided that it will not be the plan that suits her best.

Good Luck!!

:)

Hmmmmm?!

Well, OK then. :) I guess the mystery remains. No, I don't want to slap you. I got over that need to hit with my DH's success! :p As far as Atkin's goes, I have read his book, (About 10 yrs ago)and watched the lbs. melt off several of my family members. It is not for me, as I, too, tried a similar version, only to find my cholesteral went through the roof. (Largly the result of bad "stock":p ) So I tend to stick with hunter/gatherer techniques: Lots of fruit/veggies and a daily dose of exercise. The exercise doesn't bother me at all. I do enjoy doing it.

I'm so glad you are having success. I am, too. Every day I get off my butt and find myself living an active life, I'm enjoying success. Really, for me, it's the "thin lifestyle" I'm after, not necessarily the body. ;)

Keep the Faith!

John, I'm so jealous. But I'm so proud of you! My dh is doing Atkins along with me and he has lost over 20 pounds too. He loses so fast and I lose so slowly :(

But good for you! Now you get to use the 20 pound clipart. Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to me, even if I don't lose as quickly as you do ;)

Katholyn
