I will be at a convention at the Orlando Convention Ctr in May. I have booked a week at WDW POR for the week prior to the convention, but I need something close to the cnvention ctr - with good access to WDW - during the meeting itself. :surfweb: Does anyone have a suggestion about where to stay? Trip Advisor recommends the Hampton Inn. Anyone know? I have no idea how long it will take either to get to WDW from the ctr... The first day I will be traveling from POR. After that from my new hotel to MK or Epcot.... I would appreciate any suggestions. :goodvibes Thanks.

I can highly recommend the Hampton Inn.
Myself and my daughter stayed there last September for 4 nights. Its in a great location just off I-Drive so its quiet. Lots of great restaurants just through the car park, but a free hot and cold buffet breakfast is included.

The beds were the most comfortable we have EVER slept in!!
Any questions just ask.
BTW, i booked through Hotels R Us, and got a great rate $50 a night!!!! I believe rack rate was $179

The Hampton Inn is nice.

Or, the SpringHill Suites Convention Center location is nice as well. Also, the Crowne Plaza just down Universal Blvd is a fine hotel. I think it is the top rated hotel in Orlando on Trip Advisor.

Any of those I'd feel good with.

Edit: after posting the ranking, I went to TA to check. The SpringHill Suites Convention Center is acutally the #1 rated hotel in Orlando right now, followed by the Hampton Inn Convention Center at #2. The Crowne Plaza is at #4, but still a very nice hotel. Here's the link...

Hi, thanks for your help and input on the Hampton Inn. I appreciate it. :goodvibes Any idea how long it takes to drive to WDW from there? What if you take the I ride thing? :surfweb:

I wasnt driving, but took a taxi to Pop for the next part of our trip.... it took about 20 mins or so....cost was $35
The I-Ride wont take you to Disney, but if you get off at the stop outside Seaworld (sorry, cant remember the stop # offhand) and catch a Lynx #50, it will take you to the T&TC at WDW

I'll be at Springhill Suites for 4 days in May (DH will be at a conference) & they have a free shuttle to WDW from the hotel, but it only goes to Epcot, and only 3 times in the am & 3 times in the pm. So I'll have to take a taxi when those shuttle times don't work for me. The Mears fare estimator says it's $28.50 one way from the conference center area to WDW. I-ride Trolley is just for the I-Drive area, it doesn't go near WDW unfortunately. Hey redbudlover - any chance you're going to the Sapphire/ASUG conference?

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites on I-Drive and it was walking distance to the convention Center. Some units have 2 bedrooms and all have a full kitchen.
