We are looking for a good hotel in The Disney, Orlando, International Dr. Area that is not over 100.00 a night. My kids LOVE the pool so that is a big concern for us. Only staying 3 nights. Want to do International Dr, Downtown Disney and maybe Sea World. Any recommendations? Going at the end of April or beginning of May 2008

I stayed at the Hawthoure Suites on Canada Aveune right off I-Drive and was clean and had a free breakfeast. The pool was clean.

I am thinking about staying there next year myself since WDW have went up there Value hotels.

On I-Drive, I would recommend Marriott's Courtyard or Fairfield Inn. Close to the parks and everything else I-Drive has to offer.

We love the LaQuinta Inn off International drive. It is acutally on Jamaica Drive. We stayed there in 2005 and loved it. The room we had was like a suite. It had 2 queen beds, a sofa bed, fridge and microwave. Our plans have changed for 2008 (I need to update signature line......lol)and this is where we are planning on staying again. There are so many restuarants in the area it is hard to name them all. And, many other attractions too.

The price also includes a breakfast. And, if you have the furry type family member coming along on vacation. They are pet friendly. Now, that being said our room was emaculate. If pets had been in that rooom you would never have known it.

With our Sams club discount we are going to pay 75.00 a night during peak season.

Hope this helps.

I just booked this hotel. The person I talked to on the phone was wonderful and helpful and offered suggestions. I have 7 people in my party and they priced out 2 different room types. I really wanted to stay on-property for my US/IOA stay but this hotel is half the price and offers a free hot breakfast

You might try Vista Cay. It is a brand new condo style resort with a nice pool.

It likely be at the top end of your price range, if you can find it for a bargain. It isn't a timeshare, each unit is individually owned. But if you travel in early May, you might get a bargain.

Try going to VistaCayRent.com. You can make an inquiry via e-mail. You type in some info, and then it sends to many owners... who will then respond with a quote via e-mail. Prices can be negotiable. If you find something close to your price, e-mail the owner and see what they will do.

I think that you'll get the nicest pool in your $100 price range by looking at condo complexes.

The other option is to try Priceline in the Seaworld/Universal or OCCC areas.

Good luck!

Hawthorn Suites. $89 per night if you're a AAA member, $99 if not, for a true 1 bedroom suite with kitchen. Every location offers free high-speed wireless internet and free hot breakfast. There's one by the convention center on I-drive and another on Canada Ave by Universal Studios.

I know when I stay there last year when my first hotel that I booked sold my room and I paid down payment hold. It was July 4th week and everything was book up. The Hawthorne Suites was wonderful and finding a room in there hotel and give me my AAA discount to boot.

Think I willing staying there again next year because I have 8 people going and turning into a family fair.

If the original poster is still with this thread...

$100/night during late April or May will get you pretty much any hotel you could want in the DW area (excluding a handful of luxury hotels). Pick out ones you like from Expedia, etc. and then use these fourms, tripadvisor, etc. (exercising subjectivity, since many reviews tend to be gripe-and-moan) to research them.

Maybe you could provide a few more details about what you want in a pool?

LAS2AMS is correct that you can find a clean quality hotel room for $100/night on I-drive. But the vast majority in the price range will have your basic rectangular pool. I suspect that you if want a standard hotel room and a standard rectangular pool that you would get something in the $75-$80 per night price range.

All the hotels in the price range should have a well maintained pool area... just nothing that will "wow!" you. If you're looking for a resort style pool you'll either need to look at a condo/timeshare or spend a few more dollars on the hotel.

Good luck hunting for the right place. It is half the fun!
