Well our budget has finally hit rock bottom...I only have 100 a night for accomodation and all thats left at Disney for that is POP and no way will my hubby stay there again , he hated it! I dont want a condo as I dont feel Im on vacation if I have to make my own beds so Im looking for a nice hotel the kids will like thats clean ( with housekeeping). They are 3 and 9 yrs old. Thanks

For a short stay in December 2010, we bid on Priceline for a 3-star hotel in the Lake Buena Vista area, and got the Fairfield Inn LBV in Marriott Village for $35 a night. If you book with the hotel, it's usually around $79-$99. Marriott Village is a gated area with three hotels and a food court, about a mile from the Downtown Disney entrance. It's not pretty (lots of concrete, not many trees), but it's clean and well kept. Our mattress was in better shape than the one at a pricier Residence Inn elsewhere in Florida. The Fairfield throws in a decent breakfast buffet, including hot egg dishes (even at the Priceline rate).

I like bidding in the LBV area because the Route 535 strip is less tacky than 192, and because most of the LBV hotels don't charge resort fees. (Don't get me started on resort fees.) One caveat is that DTD traffic backs up something fierce. See the Unofficial Guide for ways to avoid traffic to and from your desired Disney destination.

We like Radisson Celebration. It's 1.5 miles to Disney and the beds are super comfy. They have nice pools and 3 hot tubs and a Starbucks in the lobby.

You can hotwire it for around $50 a night, but it's still under $100 if you book directly (do the internet rate to get the best rate direct from the hotel).

The hotels that I would recommend that we've stayed at before is:

Best Western LBV in the Downtown Disney area and
Clarion Inn LBV

We stay at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott was real nice. I am looking forward to staying at the Springhill Suites at Sea World because they pool looks awesome for kids and got 89 dollars a night.

Well I don't know if you've considered a condo but I just rented a 2 bed 2 bath in Celebration for $644 for 7 nights. vrbo.com # 193887. Looks great and it's the best deal I could find. It has positive reviews also. Sorry I just read the rest of your post and realized you don't want a condo. Sorry again.

Haven't stayed there yet (will in May) but we are paying $89 a night at the Holiday Inn at Downtown Disney. It gets great reviews on Trip Advisor. Good luck!

We are going on a last minute super budget trip in a couple weeks. This will be our first time staying offsite. I reserved my first Hotwire hotel and got one for $40 a night including free breakfast. I was nervous reserving a nameless hotel but I think I did pretty good. I checked it on tripadvisor after I paid and it got pretty good reviews. We are taking lots of snacks in the car with us and I bought restaurant.com gift certificates for while we are in the WDW area. We are only doing 2 WDW parks but are also taking our girls to Cocoa Beach (and I have a restaurant.com gift cert for that area too.) Hope you have a great trip!! :)

I agree with using the Priceline Name Your Price Option. I suggest selecting LBV area and selecting 4 star or 3 1/2. Start your bid price around $45 or $50. Each time it doesn't find a match, go up $5 on your bid. I wouldn't go higher than $85 on your bids. I don't think you will get that high though. Your card will get charged the amount though so make sure you have the funds. And.. no cancellations allowed so no turning back on the trip once its booked. My family uses this option a lot. We choose 4 star to start out and start at $45. If we get to $75 without a hit, we go to 3 1/2 and start at $40 then go up. We've stayed at Hiltons and Marriott's for $50-$60 in very popular destinations which normally cost over $175 + a night. Good Luck.
