If I’m sweltering hot at Disney, it’s worth it. If I’m sweltering hot elsewhere… get me to an AC.I'm a Brit. We don't do extremes in weather. It's rain or nothing usually. But hot, still air? I'm sweltering.
...meanwhile, here in Calgary...Monday is going to feel like 47°C here (Toronto area), which is 117°F. School is still in session and majority don’t have air conditioning in my city. I’ll be working in one and kicking myself over that!!
Heat index here is called humidex, no idea why we use different terms for the same thing!
Any chance they would close schools there? That sounds dangerous!Monday is going to feel like 47°C here (Toronto area), which is 117°F. School is still in session and majority don’t have air conditioning in my city. I’ll be working in one and kicking myself over that!!

No, they won’t. They really should but they won’tAny chance they would close schools there? That sounds dangerous!
Yep, exactly. The heat never ends and it's brutal since April.Yeah as crazy as weather has gotten in other parts of the country the past few years, Florida just seems to be the same basic hot/humid weather we always get, maybe slightly warmer some days than usual
I lived in Mississippi for 20 years so I know humidity, and even here in central OK where we are now there's plenty of humid days. But we hadn't been to WDW in the summer for a number of years until last July - and I definitely had forgotten just how stifling Florida humidity really is. It was just difficult to breathe. But...we had a great time so of course we are going again next month, lol. Just know as a meteorologist we have to take it easy and as someone said HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE!I never believed in the dry heat vs humidity argument until I was in Vegas when it was 110F.
Was it hot? Oh yeah. But it isn't AS draining as 100F with 90% humidity. No. When you have the insane humidity, there is no getting away from it. And it will still be hot at 10PM as the moisture retains the heat.
That dry heat does make breathing difficult though for those of us from the swamp!!

For the most part me too. That dry heat destroys my sinuses.I actually prefer humidity because that's what I am used to. When I go out west I find that my skin gets really dry, especially my lips! I know you can get used to it, but drinking water is so important. That said, I do hate how the humidity traps the heat and it does not cool off much at night. For that, I definitely like the dry climates.

Officially 101F at Logan, hottest day in June on record in BostonLooked down for the time while driving home from a Dr apt., I was traveling South on 93 crossing Dorchester area of Boston and my car read 107 for outside the vehicle, I snapped a photo out of pure shock. View attachment 977340
