Well, I think a LOT depends on your LO's ages and ability levels (familiarity with gaming, etc).
My experience: I'm *not* a gamer, but I do like the Wii a lot simply because it's so different from other platforms (I prefer to exercise more than my thumbs!). I have 2 girls, now 2.75yo and 6yo. We've had the Wii for approx. 1.5yrs now, and dd#1 has played it pretty much since we got it (so around 4.75yo when she started); dd#2 *just* began playing it this past Christmas, she still doesn't completely get it, but she's tickled to join us anyway!
2.75yo: she can pretty much ONLY play her Diego Safari Rescue game, but it's nicely adapted for the littlest players
6yo: (kind of in order of what she began with):
- Disney Princess Enchanted Journey (not terribly complex, but she still replays it even though it's identical, and it helped develop her Wii remote skills).
- Cosmic Family provided some level of educational content too.
- Carnival gets some play, but she doesn't quite have the skill for it yet, she seems to prefer Carnival Mini Golf which we got for Christmas.
- Littlest Pet Shop is another Christmas gift that's gone over VERY big.
- She also likes the gentle exploration of Endless Ocean, since it doesn't have any time sensitivities, nothing to 'get' her, etc.
- Her latest absolute favorite though has got to be Boom Blox; frankly, we ALL love this one!
- She's also really looking forward to the Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves that's coming out at the beginning of April; she is her mother's daughter, LOL!
HTH a bit!
