What are the best table service places for lunch & dinner at Epcot? Such a hard decision!!!!

I'm leaning towards....
Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Biergarten....

How is Coral Reef really???? :confused3 I'm a big seafood fan, but I've seen some pics and read some reviews that were not on the positive side. However, I will try it if I'm convinced.

Anywhere else??? Thanks!:)

We spent 10 days and the dinner at Coral Reef was the worst. Service and food were both below par and we won;t be going back anytime soon.

LeCellier's was one of the best places I have ever eaten at Disney. The filet was one of the best I have ever eaten and I have eaten steak at plenty of places. You also have to get the Cheddar soup, it is out of this world, so good I bought a recipe book at DTD just because it had the recipe. My kids loved it. Also a good tip for you is if you are a wine drinker get a 1/2 carafe if you plan on drinking more than one glass. One glass was like $9-$10, the bottle was $30 and the 1/2 carafe was $20. Our waiter basically poured the whole bottle in the carafe (he must have saved the last little bit for himself). I got three very full glasses out of it. And yes Coral Reef is not that great. The only good thing about the place in my opinion is the aquarium. Not very good seafood at all. One counter service place we go every time however is Sunshine Seasons, if you are on the dining plan it is the best deal at Disney for a counter service. Great grilled food and vegetables and your dessert is a pastry chef made dessert from a seperate dessert counter.:thumbsup2

Biergarten! It has a great theme, great show, and you feel like you're still at Disney- not just a restaurant.

I think Le Cellier is WAY over rated. Some regular old steaks and not all that exciting of an atmosphere....just my opinion. For fun and fun food, I love Teppan Edo, Biergarten, Marakesh and my new favorite, 9 Dragons!!! YUM YUM. It used to be bad but now it is GOOD!!!

Coral Reef was the worst Disney restaurant we ever experienced. The food was dreadful and the service was arrogant and slow. We wouldn't go there even if it was free! We love both Rose and Crown and Le Cellier, and Biergarten is lot's of fun, even though the food is nothing special. Also like San Angel Inn, particularly for lunch--again, food isn't anything special, but the atmosphere is great.

le cellier was a huge hit with our entire group last time we went (1 yr ago) and it's on the must do list for everyone on our next trip (1 yr from now).

we have done coral reef in the past and it was ok. the atmosphere is nice although honestly? seeing people eat fish while watching fish swim around kind of creeps me out a bit. lol. (i'm a vegetarian though.)

My wife and I have had great meals all 3 times we ate at Coral Reef. Not so good at Rose & Crown, we ate there on New Year's Eve 2 years ago and all they were concerned about was turning the table and the food was pretty bad.

Some of Our favorite EPCOT table service restaurants ---

Teppan Edo --- a fun dining experience with good food

Bistro de Paris --- good for a date night

Restaurant M'arakesh --- Mediterranean-style food, belly dancer entertainment

And, even though you didn't ask, a couple of our favorite counter service spots in EPCOT ----

Boulangerie Patisserie in France

Kringila Bakery in Norway

Counter service in Morocco (I forgot the name)

I'm glad you mentioned the counter service, actually because there were just too many places that look awesome to choose from! I have 2 days planned for Epcot and now I'm leaning on doing 2 table service for one day and perhaps counter service another. I really appreciate all the feedback, it makes it much easier on figuring out where to go and where not to go. I am counting down the days!! Next weekend I call for my ADRs! WOO HOO!!!:cheer2:

We are going to Epcot for at least 2 days, and possibly 3 days, when we go on our trip in July 2010. Here is what we would do for 2 days at Epcot:

Day 1: Lunch at Tangierine Cafe in Morocco (counter service and excellent food); Dinner at Biergarten in Germany (excellent food and entertainment)

Day 2: Lunch most like counter service in Mexico; Dinner at Les Chefs de France

If we have a third day at Epcot we know for sure that we would do dinner at Garden Grill so the boys can enjoy the characters, plus the meal is family style which means they bring the food to us! Lunch would be either counter service in Norway or a different country.

We love eating around the world! Excellent snacks too, especially at Boulangerie Patisserie in France!

Oh, that sounds good. Does anyone know what time the entertainment at the Biergarten starts? I take it that they just do the entertainment during dinner hours? Just wondering, we are doing an early dinner and I don't want to miss if it we can. Thanks!

we like a lot of places at Epcot-- i would try to get LeCellier for sure:) We also like Coral Reef-- but we eat there about every other year to mix it up a little-- we love the aquarium and DH is big on watching the fishes lol, Biegarten is just a fun place all around:) i enjoyed the food-- most likely you will have a decent meal, also may i suggest-- Teddan Edo-- Its Japanese-- i have never been there but trying it the first time this year-- my mother in law loved it, tutto Italia-- its very good if you like Italian food:)

If you are a foodie then here is my list rated solely for the food and not the experience.

Bistro de Paris - very long meal and romantic don't go often not kid friendly

Yachtsman - very short walk to YC through the IG. Kid friendly our favorite

Il Mulino - longer walk to Swan but excellent! Almost our favorite. It is not a very "Disney" experience

Tutto Italia - the service has been outstanding each time, food excellent

Le Cellier - very good but IMHO overrated Yachtsman is better, I'm tired of the constant 1/2 hour wait for a table.

Chef's de France - is spot on for a "bistro in Paris" experience

Biergarten (excellent cheese spaetzle, pretzel bread, Pork Schnitzel)- if you factor in the show it gets bumped over Le Cellier as a must do. We have nothing like this at home so it is one of our uniquely WDW experiences.

Rose and Crown - really enjoyed the lamb, please bring back the pie sampler!!!

Restaurant Marrakesh - it is a "must do" once, enjoyed the belly dancer but the food was overcooked and dry.

Nine Dragon's- no reason to go there

Teppan Edo - If there is a hibachi restaurant in your area please skip this experience.

We loved Le Cellier both times we ate there(lunch and dinner). I have been to Coral Reef twice and my husband three times and we loved it each time.

Hmmm...maybe NOT eating at Coral Reef now.

We've eaten at LeCellier (1998, so a long time ago) and loved it.

I'd say this is a loaded question. :)

Everyone's opinions are going to be different. For instance, I've seen for Coral Reef two horribles, two mehs, and one good already.

All of the restaurants vary to a degree. It depends on the server, their mood, the chef, etc.

In 2007 I made an ADR at Coral Reef, and changed it to a CP package at Coral Reef when they were available. After that I started hearing horror stories - kids running around, noise, bad service, and lousy food (including the infamous "sad little crabcake" story on the podcast). But I stuck with it.

You an read the trip report by following the link below, but the meal wasn't going to start well when they completely screwed up the ADR for the package, and had me booked for several days AFTER WE WERE LEAVING WDW. CP packages sell out fairly quick, and not only do I not have a dinner ADR for that night, but nothing for the Candlelight Processional! And it was already 4pm! This was not starting well - which would perhaps color ANY meal at that point (which was about to become fish and chips or the cantina).

Fortunately the manager came over and said that not only would she be able to seat us, but we WOULD get the CP seating - we just had to go and pick up the tickets (really, stickers) at the booth by the ampitheater because they only had enough for the expected CP package people.

From there, we had a most excellent (and by far the most expensive) meal we had on that trip. Everybody enjoyed what they had, and our server was great. We even got an extra bowl of lobster bisque that he had mistakenly brought to our table, and didn't want to bring it back to the kitchen :)

There were no kid problems (even from my own), noise was acceptable, and we were in the first row of half-moon booths facing the tank for a great view.

It's been years since we ate at Biergarten, but I remember being pleasantly surprised. Pre-Teppan Edo teppanyaki wasn't bad, but no different than local places. We always like Rose & Crown. The only other one we've eaten at so far was Marrakesh, and we were delighted with the flavors there as well.

Le Cellier is on the list for April.
