I just made two reservations for 5 nights each at a Grand Villa at OKW. One is in Fall and the other is in January of 2009.

The total point cost for all ten days is 364 points.

The undiscounted price for these reservations, including tax, would be $13,466 for the ten days.

In 1992, I only paid $11,960 for 230 points at OKW, at $52 per point.

At $5.00 per point for member fees, my out of pocket cost will be $1820, or $182 per night for a 2400 square foot Grand Villa.

I hope this can be a thread about how DVC has gotten to be a better and better deal for us as the years have passed. :goodvibes

Congratulations on you upcoming trips! We just called our guide this morning for an add-on and this just helps validate our decision!

We just called for an add on this morning too (At OKW)! Where did you add your points?

Saratoga, can't beat those MF's. Plus we are taking advantage of the current incentive (again, we are a sucker for a Disney sale).

Its a good thing you bought this morning then! My guide had told me they were really busy today because their current promotion is ending on Monday. Congrats!

Between the end of the promo and the OKW extension, my guide is buried.

Did you know that a price increase is coming out March 5th?

No I didn't know that and my guide didn't mention anything about it, but I remember that an increase happened in March of last year too.

Do you happen to know which contracts will be affected by the increase?

I would guess it would be for all of the resorts, but I am not sure. I know it will include the "new" resorts SSR and AKV.

Thanks for the info TomandRobin.

Sorry for hijacking your thread tvwalsh! I'm so happy to own at OKW, not only for the GVs, but because I love the theme!

I agree about the continued value and savings! Heck, just being able to enjoy a 2 bedroom villa at OKW for 10 nights for half my maintenance fees is a "deal" all by itself! In fact, I'm going to be making more reservations come next weekend! maybe I should try for a GV after all!

I just hope I can get something different then the tote bag for this add-on.

I just got the paperwork for my add-on this past week, and got my 13th tote bag, so don't expect anything different.

Then to think if you sold your points now... what is it something like $70-80/pt... your gain around $6,000 +/-!!! Plus 16 years of really nice but inexpensive vacations!!! :cool1: Wish I had understood the "secret" then too!!!

Congratulation on being soooo smart and wishing your continued enjoyment for years to come! :flower3:

Enjoy your upcoming trips! Boy I wish we would of purchased alot sooner.
