Hello! I am completely new to the boards and Disney planning. It has been my dream to go someday. I'm thinking maybe this could be the year if we can find a good deal. I contacted Dreams Unlimited and asked them to give me a quote for the Disney Visa Rewards promotion where children eat and get the Disney tickets free.

This is for myself, DH, and DD who is 5 years old

Travel dates: 6/26-7/2

6 Nights at Pop Century Resort-Standard Room

5 Day regular park passes -no park hopper, water park

with the Quick Service dining plan: 1092.00
upgrading to the regular dining plan: 1168.00

Does this seem like a good deal to you?

I have only started reading the forums here a couple of days ago so I am early on in my planning, but this seems very affordable. We were planning a trip to Gatlinburg, TN this year but it looks like we may be able to do Disney for a few hundred more.

That seems like an excellent deal considering the time of year and the fact that you will be able to vacation for about 200 pp per day. Have you considered adding the park hopper? I would forego the upgraded dining plan and do the QSDP in order to have the freedom of park hopping. If i'm not mistaken it's like 50 bucks per ticket to upgrade? and there is about a 10-20 $ difference per day with the dining plans? To me it seems like the better bargain and you get 3 Meals a day instead of two and the mugs and an extra snack. I would pick a TS meal or 2 that you really want to so and pay out of pocket. In my experience QS meals are much easier and give you more time to tour the parks. Also you don't have to worry about putting up the cash for tips. And during that time of year you will want all the time you can to tour the parks due to the crowds.

Just my 2 pennies!

Have fun!!!

is that a pp price for you and your husband? I came up with a price for you and your husband of $2097.20 if your DD was free.

I'm not well versed in Disney so I may be way off.

This is what the full prices are for the different components:

5 day regular park passes per adult: $242.82 with tax

Quick Service Dining Plan per day per adult: $31.99 including tax

Regular Service Dining Plan per day per adult: $46.99 including tax

Pop Century Regular Room (Rack Rate): $119 Weekday and $134 Weekend plus 12.5% tax.

Therefore 6 Nights would be:

242.82 x 2 = 485.64 for tickets

Quick Service Dining Plan would be: $383.88

Regular Service Dining Plan would be: $563.88

Room at Rack Rate (2 Weekend Rates on the 26th, 27th) and (4 Weekday Rates on the 28, 29, 30 and 1) would be: $744 plus 12.5% tax = $837.00

The prices given to you by dreams unlimited do not add up. The room alone for 6 nights at that time of the year is $837. You can not get a discount on the room price when taking advantage of the kids play and dine free.

The total cost with Quick Service Dining Plan would be: $1676.52

The total cost with the Regular Service Dining Plan would be: $1886.52

I would double check with dreams unlimited. Something doesn't make sense.

With the Kids eat and dine for free you are basically saving $207.68 on your daughters tickets and $9.99 per day for the quick service dining plan. If you upgrade to the regular dining plan then you have to pay the difference of $3.00 per day for her.

When I did the pricing I did park hoppers. I reread and see you don't want park hoppers but you do want the water park so the price I came up with now is $1986.42.

Still a long way off from the price quote you received.:confused3

I agree that something just doesn't quite add up but I just wanted to say :welcome: to the DIS boards  I am sure you will get a lot of help here :tink:

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I agree that it seems to good to be true. I just sent an email to Merrie to make sure those prices are correct. I'll post back what I find out.
Thanks again!

Those numbers do not add up at all OP, you better get details in writing...

Easiset way is to actually punch in the numbers online. Since the promo is Kids eat/stay/play free, simply do a sample for two adults.

For 6/26 to 7/2, 5 day non-hopper with water, and quick service dining at POP standard room, 2 adults = $1,806.42 withouth insurance.

With regular dining, $1986.42 plus $70 (add on for your child).

I just got an email back from Dreams Unlimited.

She said that she was misquoted by someone and the price would be 1695 with quick service dining and 1893 with regular dining. This is for 6 nights with 2 adults and 1 child.

She said that the person she talked on the phone got the quote wrong and apologized. You all were right, that was too good of a deal!

Thanks again!:)
