We have a credit card with a significant balance on it and a decent % rate. It doesn't go down much each month. I want to find a new one with a 0% rate and transfer to pay this thing off. Can anyone help point me to a good deal? Thank you

Slate is great, also look at local CUs or even the big ones like PenFed or NASA.

Another vote for the Chase Slate card. There's no balance transfer fee for transfers made in the first 60 days. If your current credit card debt is on a Chase card this wouldn't work for you since Chase won't let you balance transfer to another Chase account.

I agree that Chase Slate is probably your best bet for a balance transfer + long no interest period.

funny how u said that, i just got an offer from a credit union. 12 month interest free, 0% transfer fee. Does seem a lot better than Chase Slate card...

Slate is 15 months free interest, so it's better than the credit union. Both are $0 fee.

i always though Chase Slate has a transfer fee, but i just noticed its free transfer for the first 60 days... haha, I'm not sure about the credit union one, i already deleted it... lol

The CU card may have a lower rate than what the Slate will have after the promo period ends. Typically CUs are better cards in general. You have to check the terms.

American express has a good FREE card. "Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express" gives 3% on groceries and 2% on gas along with 1% on all else. There is a $75 annual fee version that does 6% on groceries and 3% on gas. There are limits but 3% on groceries is pretty good. Please note Walmart and Target, even if they sell groceries, only get 1%. My local supermarkets is where I get the 3%. I use my Disney Visa at Walmart to get 2% and the Target Redcard to get 5%.
