Good cheeseburgers?

For some reason my mind has drifted from Aulani to cheeseburgers.

While driving around the island, we've stopped at a place over on either the north or east shore (can't remember which and don't recall the name either) that had some pretty good cheeseburgers. We're headed to Aulani next month and wanted to plan a place to stop on our "drive around the island" day. We haven't really enjoyed the shrimp trucks as much as we thought we would and are looking for some other good stops. Nothing fancy. Just little hole in the wall type places where we can get some good food. Perhaps a place that mainly appeals to the locals.

This will be our 3rd visit to Aulani.

Thanks for the link. The pictures don't look familiar so I'm guessing we stopped at a different place. I'll go back an look at my pictures from last year.

I second this place! They have great burgers and their Mahi-Mahi burgers are outstanding too. They now have a location in Kapolei, right by Target.

Good cheeseburgers are kind of random here. They're not a local thing, so it's been my experience that the burger places cater mostly to tourists, or white people who live here now, but aren't local. Anyway, this place is good http://www.thecounterburger.com/honolulu/

Going to keep my eye out for good burger places, I know my fiance would love a good burger, even if we're in Hawaii.

The Hawaii Cheeseburger in Paradise is different and they have a few locations. I have been to the one in Lahaina and was totally underwhelmed, it was overpriced and not so good. There is one right in Waikiki and others on Oahu but they have different names. The one right in Waikiki is called Cheeseburger in Paradise and is not part of the Jimmy Buffet chain...I have never been to the Waikiki location

Agree with Alohamom, ate at the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Waikiki and was not good whatsoever.

There's a cheeseburgers on Beachwalk. It was actually pretty good if you like a big loaded up burger. Great fries though.

I guess it's the same chain as Cheeseburger in paradise.

It's not a giant meaty burger, like a great steakhouse burger, but every time I've been there, it's consistently been a decent burger that hits the spot.

not sure where you guys live, but I haven't been down there yet but I think it's down by the mall and whole foods. But I need a run to Kaimuku dry goods so I should go for lunch.
