I'm not even going to lie. My favorite book is The Scarlet Letter.

I had to read it for school last year, and I think I was the only person in the school to actually read the whole thing...

Twilight series- my favorite!
I can't wait for the 3rd one to come out!!:dance3:

Me either third one is called Eclipse and it comes out August 7th if i remember right.

Breathing Underwater- totally forgot authors name
and Any Nora Roberts Books are amazing as well

If you like humour and can at the very least tolerate sci-fi, then you should definitely look into 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and it's sequels by Douglas Adams. That book is so unbelievably funny, I was literally laughing out loud while reading it on several occasions. Seriously, at least check them out once. But for slightly less obvious humour book, (though it's still quite funny) try the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. It's a fantasy series, and the way the books are depicted their city/country sort of mirrors our world. They're wonderfully characterized and well thought out, I definitely reccomend them. The Sherlock Holmes series deserve a mention in this thread as well. Go read them. Now. Arthur Conan Doyle also wrote some other short stories, and they're pretty good, too. And if I may be biased for a moment, the Alien Chronicles series by Deborah Chester just plain rocked. Very dramatic at times, and the world depicted was, like Discworld, very believable and well described.

Like the others said, the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfield and the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer.
Has anyone read Scott Westerfields new series, Peeps? Is it good?
Anyway, some of my favorite books are:
Smack - Melvin Burgess
Thirteen Little Blue Envelopes - Maureen Johnson
Georgia Nicolson series - Louise Rennison (these are absolutely HILARIOUS!)
Without You - Anthony Rapp (if you're a fan of RENT)
Sticky Fingers - Niki Burnham
The Gossip Girl series by Cecily von Ziegesar are good too.

I want to read them, but I can't seem to find them in any bookstores. I've checked 4 different stores and none of them had it. I'll probably have to order it online.

The Left Behind Series (If you are a Christian, of course)

Harry Potter

Shadow Children

"Small Steps" which is the sequel to Holes is pretty good. That's the only one that I really liked. (There are more swears in Small Steps than Holes. Just a fair warning)

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is completely amazing. It was written in the 50s and it's almost scary how much of what he wrote has come true.
To kill a Mockingbird By Harper Lee is fantastic as well

I never knew there was a sequel to Holes...Interesting...

Oh I just remembered there is a book, called Black Like Me. It's about a reporter, in the 50's, who moves down south, and turns himself Black with this skin dye. He moves from town to town in states like Alabama and Georgia where the segregation was highest. It's veeery interesting and addicting. Go out and get it now! ......

Harry Potter (about a boy wizard) by J.K. Rowling

All-American Girl (about a girl who saves the president)

Ready Or Not (about the girl who saves the president and her boyfriend, the president's son)

both by Meg Cabot

The Princess Diaries series (about a girl who turns out to be a princess)

Also by Meg Cabot

Sisterhhod of the Traveling Pants (about some magic pants)

By Ann Brashares

Twilight (about love--and also vampires)

By Stephanie Meyer

AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVE:

Chicks With Sticks: It's A Purl Thing

and

Chicks With Sticks 2: Knit Two Together

(basically the sisterhood of the traveling pants with magic yarn instead of magic pants; also much better than the sisterhood of the traveling pants, even if you don't knit)

by Elizabeth Lenhard
