Good book ideas for DS10

Forgot to include:

Nick of Time by Ted Bell - this is an adventure with a little time travel, with both old time pirates and WWII submarine intrigue. DD11 actually gasped out loud at a couple of exciting scenes.

Also, the Gideon Trilogy, starting with The Time Thief by Linda Buckley-Archer. And some of the old Robert Heinlein books, like Have Spacesuit, Will Travel. Some are too adult, but there are several that are quite fun.

I forgot that I also read Inkspell this summer and my nephew did as well. He liked it a lot.

Today I picked up Artemis Fowl since I haven't read that yet. I also picked up Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. I hope its good. It won the Newberry so I am sure it will be at least well written.

Also wanted to mention I have read about a quarter into The Graveyard Book and so far I am really enjoying it. As of now I will probably recommend it to my nephew. He may not like it, but it I find it interesting.

Also my nephew loves The Hardy Boys. Those are his go to books. He is always reading one even while reading another book.

I didn't have time to read the responses so I am probably duplicating. DS10 enjoys fantasy, mystery and sports books the most. Some of the favorites from the past year include:
-The Lightning Thief series
-The Harry Potter series
-The Narnia series
-Series of Unfortunate Events books
-The Spiderwick Chronicles
-From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
-A Wrinkle in Time
-The Hardy Boys books
-Encyclopedia Brown (easy reading but he likes to try to solve the mysteries)
-Matt Christopher books
-Biographies about people he is interested in. (His favorites so far are Jackie Robinson and Walt Disney)

-He read the A to Z and Cam Jansen books in 2nd grade, but will still read any new ones he comes across. Same with the Boxcar Children and Magic Tree House. He says that sometimes he just likes to read something easy. I guess adults do to or there wouldn't be those magazines by the registers. ;)

-He gets Sports Illustrated for Kids in the mail which he enjoys.

I just finished up reading The Graveyard and I must say I loved it. As soon as I closed the book, I wanted to read it again and I will.

I read mostly 4-8th grade books all summer(a lot of Newbery Winners and Honor Books), and this was probably my favorite.

BTW if anyone has a younger reader, my kids just devoured the Franny K Stein series. They are very witty.

My 10 year old loved "Bud, Not Buddy" by Christopher Paul Curtis. It's about a 10 year old boy who runs away from a foster home in search of his real father. It was a Newberry winner a few years ago.

Another really big favorite of of my DS was "Skeleton Creek" by Patrick Carman. The reader reads a chapter and then logs onto the book's website where a clip is shown that grabs the reader into reading the next chapter. Each chapter is followed by a video. The videos are filmed in real time, kind of like the Blair Witch Project, but not in a demonic way. Very nail biting though. My DS would watch the video on the computer and I'd hear him from the other room saying, "Oh no, oh no!!" Then he'd run upstairs and disappear in his room to read the next chapter to see what happened.
