Does anyone know of a good bakery near HHI? I would love to walk if possible, if not I will get in the car and drive. We have stayed in the Myrtle Beach area for the last few years and there are several good places to get baked goods such as the Atlanta Bread Company and Krispy Cremes.

Ronnie's Bakery is not too far from the resort, just down 278 towards Sea Pines Circle. It's kind of tucked away near a gas station, I think. We haven't been there in a number of years, so I can't really speak to the quality. It's probably more of a bike ride, rather than a walk, from the resort though.

Hilton Head Diner also has "to go" bakery, and is within a decent walking distance. Again, haven't been there in years.

BUT, if you truly don't mind getting in the car, go to Signe's. It's a restaurant/bakery and was recently featured on Rachael Ray's "30 Minute Meals" on the Food Network. YUM!! It's also a great place to go for breakfast, but be prepared for a bit of a wait -- well worth it, though.

I don't think there is a Krispey Kreme on the island. The closest Atlanta Bread Company is near the Wal-Mart, which is several miles away.

Have a great time at Hilton Head!!

Another bakery is Coligny Bakery at Coligny Circle. I go here at least once per visit to get some danish, croissants, and muffins, plus french sticks. Atlanta Bread Company is on your way in - you can always do a quickie stop then if you notice it. I think Coligny overall has more variety then Signe's, although I also liked Signe's for breakfast.

Piggly Wiggly close to the resort has an instore type bakery, and the items are pretty good, with a fairly large selection.

Regarding Hilton Head Diner - how is the food there?

To the OP, I know you can buy Krispy Cremes, and some bakery items at Piggly Wiggly, with is within walking distance.
The food at HH Diner was OK, but I thought the place was a little messy, I wasn't crazy about it.
Thnaks, Disneyaholic, for the review of Signe's. I also saw it, and once they showed the berry stuffed French toast, that did it for DH-"Next trip we're going there!" And didn't you say Chef Gordon recommended Sea Shack? Once Dh saw the French toast, he didn't pay attention to anything else, but any place Gordon recommends, I'm sure DH would want to go.

Not walking distance for sure, but I really like the pastries at Harbour Town Bakery---on top of danishes, etc. they also have a selection of goodies that remind me of the ones you get in France (croissant, pain au chocolat)---and very well made. (go early, they often sell out completely) You can also order other breakfast foods and eat inside or out on tables, somewhat cafe style, with spanish moss hanging over your head. Oh, the coffee is GREAT! But if choosing a place for regular entrees rather than pastries, I would eat at Signe's first and foremost. On top of the french toast, they make a fantastic frittata with ingredients that change daily.

I actually think Chef Gordon is more of a fan of Captain's Seafood, which is right down the street from the resort. Offhand, I can't remember what he has said about Sea Shack, but I do remember him talking about Captain's Seafood on more than one occasion. :goodvibes We went to Captain's this last trip and had wonderful food!

Dis-happy, we ate at Signe's the day we were leaving HH this past trip. OMG, that fritatta was fantastic!!

ooohhhh Don't I wish! Lucky you to be able to do that!!

When I figure out how to do this: :teleport: I'll be there!

another vote for Coligny! Have also heard fabulous reviews of Signe's which I think is a little closer to the resort than Coligny...but definitely not walkable.
