In the past we have stayed off-property and rented a car while at Disney but in the last 5 years we have stayed onsite and used the busses for every trip. We have a great opportunity for staying offsite next year, and I'm trying to remember the good and the bad of driving to the parks. We will be travelling with another family so there will be 5 kids, ages 7 months, 5, 7, 7, and 9 years. Any thoughts are appreciated!

There's no "bad" when driving to the parks from offsite; at least, nothing worth mentioning. The good is, you're never relying on limited hours, runs, or space on offsite-provided transportation. Okay, the 'less good' is, sure, it costs you $14 - once a day - to park if you're staying offsite.
