I have been MIA from the boards for a while, but now with a few upcoming trips in my sight, so much has changed at DLR! So of course I came to the experts :)

1. Planning a one day on Monday Sept 13th and wanted to get the picnic package for World of Color. The park closes at 8PM and the show is listed at 8:15PM. Is this a typo or just how it's going down these days?

2. Has anyone had the Antipasta Picnic? Worth the $12.99 for a good seat and a snack? I mostly just don't want to waste my morning getting a ticket for the show.

3. How is the seating/view for dining reservations? Will we get wet?

4. iPhone/iPad users: what is your go-to app for the parks? I have MouseWait but haven't tried it yet. Preferably a free one, or a super cheap one!

Thanks all. You're the best!

1. The time is correct.

2. Lots of reviews are out there on the pinic meals I would say most are positive. I agree dinner is gogin to cost you $10 bucks anyway and you will save time.

3. Viewing with the meals is fair to verg good, you still want to be there to get a spot by the railings. Not behind somone taller than you.

That's how it's going down! :) Last week DCA closed at 11:00 but there was still an 11:15 showing for World of Color. So I'd believe the 8:15 show time.

I had the antipasto picnic and it was fine. Not as terrible as many of the other $14 meals available in the parks! :) It was really more of a snack even for a small person like me. I'd definitely do it again if the alternative was standing in line at the FP machines during those precious morning hours. ]

I did not stand in the preferred dining section, but we were in the blue FP section and had a fantastic view from one of the farther back rails without getting wet at all. It may not be quite as immersive as being closer in, but I think overall the view was probably better since we could see everything. We had a reservation at WCT and canceled it - glad we didn't waste our money for a different view. (If you plan to eat at WCT anyway then of course it's not a waste but with two small children we didn't really find that necessary!)

As far as apps - I used DL Wait Times (free), which I found to be pretty accurate (all the times were within 5 minutes of the actual times). It also allows you to report wait times and you can see recent reports from people at the parks. And . . . it has a cool little GPS aspect where it tells you how far you are from each ride - totally unnecessary but interesting nonetheless. I also used Walkee Wait, which was pretty accurate as well, but the line timer tool didn't work for me (you can use this to report the wait time, supposedly).

Have fun! :)
