Golf DVC vs. AP

Hello, all --

As I'm both a Disney and a trivia junkie, it's my job to plan our trips. This time, however, my husband is looking to play some golf -- a matter about which I don't know much. Thanks to the mighty interwebs, I know that we can get a discount via a DVC golf membership or our APs. But I'm having trouble decoding from there. So I ask the DVC golf community:

Assuming he plays golf four times and starts before 10AM on all four days, which discount is the better deal.

As an aside, I can't BELIEVE how little Disney golf-related merch there is. I haven't found a good golf shirt and I'm very surprised that there hasn't been a glossy "Disney: A World of Golf" book.

Thanks for any help, y'all. Erinna.

If intent is to play before 10 four times, you will find that the best discount price has nothing to do with either DVC or the AP. You should instead purchase the two-day Disney golf pass (you can get as many as you want and don't buy them until you show up for a round) which is available to anyone staying on site.

With DVC, you pay $50 plus tax for an annual DVC golf discount card and then with that you get, for pre-10 am times, 25% off the WDW resort guest golf rate charged to persons staying on site. For post 10 am times it is 40%. With AP you get 30% off the regular rate charged to persons not staying on site. Since that rate is much higher than the resort guest rate, the DVC 25% discount is actually better if you are going to play multiple times.

However, you can buy through Disney at the pro shop for any of the courses if staying on site, a two day golf pass which is actually close to the same as the DVC 25% discount and you don't have to pay for the annual DVC card. The DVC discount is still better for after 10 times.

Thank you very much, drusba. I mistakenly thought the DVC discounts were on top of the two round pass. Shows what I know -- and how valuable these boards are!
