My husband wanted to play LBV, but there is no tee times on the day he wants. So we are looking at Magnolia or Osprey, which is a better course? We would like some reviews. This will be his first time golfing at WDW.

My husband (who's played them all!) said Osprey because it was designed by one of the "named" designers. And it's also ranked somewhat more difficult by the ratings.

Having said that, he frequently plays the Palm and the Magnolia.

All are good courses and none are either too hard or too easy. Osprey Ridge (designed by Tom Fazio) is by far the best, with the most impressive holes both to see and play and two of the best finishing holes you will find anywhere. One reason to play it now: it is due to be shut down and be redone in 2010 because it is the course that will be part of the new Four Seasons resort and not clear whether DVC guests will even be able to use it once redone (except likely at a new very high cost). Magnolia is the course used on the weekend for the annual PGA tournmant, has the widest fairways and the Mickey-shaped sand trap on the 6th hole that you see in promotional materials for the courses. Osprey and Palm (much water and narrower fairways at Palm) are the two most difficult of the 4 18-hole courses (many say the Osprey is the hardest but, as a low handicap, I find Palm has the edge there.

Due to some bad weather approaching for Faye in August, they had reservation for Osprey, but two days before changed it to Palm.

Both are good golfers..Said they really enjoyed Palm!

Loved Osprey Ridge when I played it in May for $35.It was very beautiful and challenging with huge greens.
Only problem was that playing alone without a spotter, I lost a few balls in the "jungle" by the rough.

I asked the starter if I set the club record... I lost 18 balls!
The starter just could figure out this... "Why the heck did you have 18 balls in your bag???" He must have asked it 4 times.

My husband and son loved Magnolia but haven't played Osprey.
How about Palm? That is also very good.
