We want to play a round of golf when we go in February but do not know what course would be best.

We are not pros just started playing this year but have played enough that we will not make fools of ourselves. Also we plan on taking advantage of the twilight savings and will only start after 3.

So what course would you recommend for a somewhat new player who wants to play 18 at Disney. We already know that we do not want to play the walking course since it is only a 9 hole.

My husband mentioned that Lake Buena Vista Course is a little less "intimidating" than the others. It is a beautiful course. Runs right by OKW resort. If you are staying onsite, they provide free transportation to and from.

Lake Buena Vista couse is shorter but it is also more tight. Eagle Pines is also fairly short and alot more attractive and interesting. Either course is a excellent choice.

DH noted that LBV has alot of water surrounding the holes, OK for him, but that's why he's not taking DMIL there. Eagle Pines is a real pretty course and not too difficult.

Thanks we will have to check that site out as well. I think we are leaning toward LBV but will check them all out indepth.

I have played Eagle Pines, The Palm, and The Magnolia. The Palm has a LOT of water that is in play. Very pretty course though. Eagle Pines is nice, but in my opinion is kind of boring. Nice layout, but to me not visually appealing to me. Out of the three I liked The Magnolia. The PGA plays there in October, and they have some of the leader boards permanently fixed on some of the holes. I think hole #6 is a par 3 with a bunker in the shape of Mickey Mouse in front of the green. Nice photo from the tee box. Also, the course is not very narrow. All of the Disney courses have 4 or 5 sets of tee boxes, so you can basicly pick the course length that fits your skill level. I will be there Sat. Sept. 24. Family trip this time around, no golf. :sad2: I have heard from Disney people that LBV is kind of narrow. Hope this helps.

I vote for the Magnolia too. We played before we had kids and we aren't very good! It was fun and had the Disney touch with Mickey shpaed bunker. Have fun...you can say you played on a PGA golf course. We will be staying at SOG the week of the golf tournament this year. That will add a little excitement and maybe DS can pick up an autograph or two.

I've played most of WDW's golf courses and I have to say, you must check out Osprey Ridge. The course is incredible and has long sections of beautiful Central Florida wilderness intermixed with the fairways. If you weren't a golfer, it would probably be fun just to ride the course and not even play it!! It's a challenging course, but in my experience, tee times are spaced out pretty well so you aren't playing on top of another party. If you try it, I promise that you'll love it.
