golf carts or bikes?

I am new to this board and I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere else. I need your info. From what I've read, cars are not allowed to drive from place to place in the campgrounds. So to get to the marina, bus stops, trading post, etc, you would either have to walk, rent a golf cart or ride your bike. DH seems to think bikes would be ok and I'm sure they will be for some things. I'm thinking about going to the marina to catch the boat to MK- do they have bike racks where you can lock your bikes, are there any lockers where you can store you helmets and do you think it would be totally exhausting to have to ride your bike back to your site after a full day in the park? Please let me know your experience. Thanks for your help.

Well after a long day in the parks, I much prefer sitting in a golf cart for the ride back. But a bike is doable. No lockers tho. There are now off site GC rentals which make it more affordable, check out the golf cart rental thread.

Every time we have gone to FW we have brought our bicycles. There are bike racks where you can lock them up. When the bus ran from the Pioneer Hall area to the TT Center, we would then take monorail to Epcot. We always drove to the other parks. As for your helmets...you could always just rent a locker at MK once you get there to store them if you wanted. This year we decided to splurge and rent a cart from Tee Time Rentals (Kenny).

We always take our bikes. FW is flat and very bike friendly, and riding back to the site after a day at a park really isn't a problem. I also like to take an early morning ride to WL and see the wildlife - very quiet, very relaxing. Personally, I can't see the expense of a cart and would rather use the money elsewhere.

There are still lockers at the marina rental building. So, if you lock your bikes up at the marina, you can use those lockers for your helmets. There are also lockers at the outpost bus stop, over by where the trail rides begin.

We ride our bikes just about every where. We ride to the marina and park them at the bike racks when boarding the boat. It's really cool to ride through the paved trails at night... we attach a headlight and taillight to our bikes though... I do recommend that.

We also rent a golf cart for one day and use that day to explore and ride around...

Also, it hasn't been mentioned, there are internal buses that run throughout the Fort. Although, I do bring my bike sometimes and I do rent a golf cart sometimes. :-)

Well we had the same question. We decided on bikes. Days we are at the parks why would we need a golf cart.

We plan on eating out a couple times and going to Typhoon Lagoon.,

But I love riding my bike. Oh by the way it is a trike:cool1:
