Can I drive the golf cart to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner? We are planning on dining at Artist Point, and would love to use the cart. Is the path to the WL wide enough?

Also, Does the cart have headlights on it?

Golf carts are not allowed on the path that connects the properties and they are not allowed off property anyway.

the path is wide enough but it is not allowed, carts must stay in Fort Wilderness.

They do have headlights and taillights

What time are you allowed to use the golf cart until in the campground? We love to ride around at night and check out all the other sights in the campgrounds (everyone else's set up)
But I didn't know if there was a quiting time for the golf carts to be turned off or not.
Also, do people usually put there lights up on there campers and all? We are going to Ft. Wilderness for the first time in Nov. and can't wait!
Thanks,
Kelly

Golf carts can (and do) go 24 hours a day. They are a blast!

Many (but not all) campers put up the cheesy lights--some of us go over the top with decorations!

Have fun planning!

Thanks so much,,
any idea how much the golf carts are? I have heard $45.00 a day.. I don't think that is too bad considering I have paid $100.00 for 2 days before.

Thanks again,
I am having a blast planning.
We are a family of four and I have a friend that will be coming with her son and this is truly the most inexpensive way to go, PLUS we absoutely LOVE camping!!! :flower:

Price sounds about right. We rented a car once when we didn't have our tow car, and the cart was more than the car ....

Would not be without one however. We bought our own finally.

Love the 'cheesy' lights, and just riding around meeting people and looking at the rigs. Biking would be healthier, but carting is more fun.

Go for it and get a cart, just call ahead during busy times. They only have about 250 +/- and they go quickly during busy periods.

I have seen golf carts left at the end of the trail connecting the campground to the WL. I am assuming some folks leave it there and walk across the cross walk to the WL.. In fact, I've actually seen some folks on a golf cart ride right up to the marina pool area at the Lodge...we were looking out our balcony ....obviously they didn't know they weren't supposed to be doing that. But I guess it could be done...however, there isn't any place to park your golf cart when you are at the Lodge. As said, I've seen them a few times at the end of the campground path that connects to the Lodge. I don't think it's an actual site where they are "supposed" to be left..but they weren't in anyones way either.

there is a bus stop near the petting farm area that does have a place to park the electric carts, this spot is designated for them and has electrical outlets for charging.

For a short time you were allowed to drive the trail up to the Lodge and park at the circle there. Unfortunately that was a very short time. If you take your golf cart somewhere 'illegal' you run the risk of having it confiscated--with no refund! :earseek:

There is a sign at the entrance to the path that states no electric carts beyond this point. They have also installed posts to deter people from driving carts onto the path.

I know there was a post at the circle...where you would cross over to the Lodge...and that's where I saw the golf carts left...assuming of course that those folks walked on over to the Lodge.
Why is that this would be an illegal spot? I wouldn't think you'd be bothering anyone by leaving your cart there, while you took a stroll over to the Lodge for dinner..or lunch. Do they prevent you from entering that area from the campground...or just from the campground to the Lodge? It's a nice path for a drive or a bike ride. I know we took our bikes from the Lodge to the campground that way.
