Golf Cart Question

We are arriving at MCO at 4:30 (hopefully) and taking the ME from MCO to FW. I currently have a golf cart reserved for arrival day but I am worried that we may not make it by 6pm. How long does it usually take? Shoul I switch the reservation to the next morning?

My thought would be to change it to the next morning. Why? If you are arriving that late in the afternoon, early evening, why pay for a full day rental? Just my suggestion. Have a great trip!!

Thank for the reply. I was thinking that we could be at the Bike BArn when they open at 8 and then straight on to one of the parks. This may be a silly question but how long does the rental process usually take? We really want to head out ASAP.

It depends on how many people are waiting in front of you, but if you go that early there won't be very many people. The process as a whole only takes about 5 minutes or so.

I too would just make the reservation for the next day, no use chancing not making it in time and getting charged for it.

P.S. Or you could just hit the lottery while you're there, buy your own customized cart, and not even have to worry...lol Don't I wish!!!

Correct me if I am wrong (Colson39 I know you are an expert) - but I thought the golf cart pick up time is after 1 pm.... when I called they told me I could possibly pick it up earlier if carts are available - and then we were there, the day of our rental, I called at 9 am and they said check back around 11 am. We ended up getting our cart at about noon. Maybe I wasn't persistant enough?? Can you get it earlier if you show up at the Bike Barn when they open?

You are not wrong cart pick up is just like the sites. Pick up after 1pm it has to be back by 11am.

Yea, I didn't even think about that, you wouldn't even be able to pick them up at 8 in the morning. Busy Friday at work So now,you're either going to have to chance making it on time, or have to pick it up after the parks on the next day.

I do believe I have heard of people getting them earlier, but that isn't anything I would count on either.

I just called The Bike Barn. They were very helpful. They said that I can just keep my current ressie and hope that I can make it by 6pm or keep my ressie and pick it up at 8am. I don't like the idea of paying for that first day but it beats leaving the parks early to make sure I get my cart. Also I was told that if I make it to check in before 6 ask someone to take my DH to the Bike Barn while I check in. They said they do it all the time.

We just got back and for the first time rented a cart. I got on the waiting list the first day and was guaranteed the next day at 1 PM. I never recvd. a call and carts were availale early ( I know this because there was a big sign that said " CARTS AVAILABLE " ), If you want to get your cart early, I would suggest checking back early.Some people complain when they get an older cart well, the average person would not be able to tell the difference from 20 feet away. We had one of the older carts and I had no idea until I asked when I returned it.there is something with the shape of the seat and the new ones have one headlight in the center and the old one's have two spaced out like a car.Good luck and have a magical trip.

Yea, I've had both the new and the old carts, and to be honest, it really doesn't make much of a difference to me. They are both carts, and it's not like the old one's are torn to pieces or anything.

If you want it for the next day early early, then I guess you should keep your reservation. I would call the bike barn and ask. It would be nice if you could shave a day off the cost of the golf cart but also nice not to have to potentially wait until 1PM. I know that the last time I was there (January), there were no carts (although saw a bunch) available until after 1PM. So, we ended up taking the bus back twice to get the cart and fortunately we were second in line. As soon as we got there, about 8 more people showed up and their wait was quite long.

keep the reservation unless you are willing to wait until 1pm. When the carts get sold out, then they do not return until 11am, need to be charged and cleaned.

Best thing to do is call when you get to orlando.......give the bikebarn an idea of when you might arrive. They can keep the computers up if they know you are coming and when you are coming. If the computers are down for the night, you have to wait until the next morning at 8am.
