Golf Cart Problems

he was just so weird. He was an older man that really reminded us of Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show. It was like he didn't beleive us..like he never saw a NY license before. I mean it had a picture and everything on it. He annoyed more than worried me. I was with my son most of the day and my son was pretty big for his age then..so I wasn't worried about him "bothering" my son. I think I could have "taken" the guy!!

I definitely would have said something, to follow you around all day is weird, and since you were doing nothing wrong, it's intefering with your vacation.

but like most legal documents and especially ones given to guests at Disney, it goes unread

Not at the Bike barn, they usually get a group of renters together and read the rules to you.

Last time I rented one there was a young lady retuning a cart and it had some molding on the bottom messed up where another cart hit her. The CM had someone who works on the cart come out and estimate the cost to repair it. The CM held that amount on the lady's card and told her if it was more or less she would either get a refund or a bill.

I'm willing to bet the damage was never repaired for one and I decided not to rent a cart again because I didn't want someone else damaging my cart then driving off and me holding the bill. Next time you see me on a cart at FW it will be mine lol.

If anything like that happened, where the cart was damaged due to someone else's negligence, I would be sure to report the incident right away, as compared to waiting till I turn the cart in.

Chances are you probably wouldn't be held liable in that case, but it would depend on the situation. If anything, you would have a much better chance than trying to talk your way out of it as you're turning the cart in :(

We've never had the cart inspected upon return. We usually drop it off the night before we leave and put the keys in the lock box! Even when we've done an exchange for one reason or the other we've been told to just leave it and get another one!

And yes, in hind site I should have complained about deputy doodoo. I just wasn't in the mood to get aggravated at the time.I can get a little "heated" when some-one annoys me!

When we rented before, I had to ask for a damage inspection prior to taking it because of the fact it was scraped, nicked, etc. The cm told me only deliberate damages or misuse was an issue and minor bumps from other carts were never an issue. Also like most other things in Disney, you get what you give. Most cm's aren't there to hassle you, whether at the bike barn or security.

I would have done the same thing. You never know.. the cast member who is there when you return the cart may have an entirely different take on things. If it had damaged..I'd want it noted so that I wouldn't be in any way held responsible upon return.

I'll let you drive mine, provided you have id to show you are of legal driving age, and you bring me a smoked peacock.

Initially, I thought this sounded like a great deal. Then, I remembered I hunted them to extinction a couple of years ago. I do see a lot of turkey on the golf course, though. Would that do?

Nuttin better than a peacock in a Dutch Oven........:goodvibes

or an Oceola turkey..

There's golf courses at Disney? I think my family rips those pages out of the books. All I get to see are the :headache: theme parks when i get to go.... now i'm depressed.

lol, Disney has quite a few championship courses. In fact, it's one of Tiger Woods favorite playing grounds :)

There is a big championship match held there each year, can't remember the name of it now, but it's shown on NBC and the like.

i'd actually like going if i got to play golf there.

It's the Funai Classic, played every October. It has interfered with my T times over there a couple of times, but normally I can work around it.

Watch what you say on this board, you'll lose your get out of jail free card. I know a lot of classics, but none of them Funaish.

He can just give me his get out of jail free card since I obviously can't find my cobbler recipe ;)
