Golf Cart Problems

haha :)

Yea, I guess all things happen for a reason, even falling out of golf carts ;)

Yep, I'm guilty of the one leg out the cart too. But when DW is driving, I'm holding on for dear life :rotfl:

Now I better duck and run :scared:

I really don't have anything to say, but I just had to get to my 1300th post before I went home today.

I'v witnesses numerous cart accidents, usually with overloaded carts and teens involved, One accident was actually in a cart driven by a life guard.

The bridge was closed to cart traffic at one time, i'm glad it is open to traffic, just have to use caution as with anything else in life.

The cart that almost hit me Tuesday night almost hit me again about an hour ago with the same driver. Cart 435. I am on my way to go get it taken care of when we go to the movie. I saw about 5 carts driven by kids on the way to the Settlement to get sour cream. Somebody has to draw a line somewhere.

I'd take the key while they are in the store.

I have reported cart infractions to the Outpost and have seen security take care of the problem.

What bothers me now is seeing so many adults driving the wrong way in the loops.

Also, these kids might not be under age, they just LOOK underage :lmao:

When I was at the Fort last time, I was driving to the docks to pick up some people and I saw these 2 ladies walking because their cart was full so I offered them a ride, well.... when they got on the cart they go "ooh it looks like we have a new driver!" I AM 21!!! :rotfl2: but I get it ALL THE TIME. I am a senior in college and people always think I am 15-16.

So, I just though I would put it out there hehe

But I do agree that the 14/15 year olds drive a little intense :rotfl:

Good point, all of us are assuming that these "kids" aren't of age, when we really don't know, sometimes as we get older it's harder to tell how old people are. Or so I've noticed ;) Not that they still don't drive crazy at times, but you do bring up a valid point as far as who is legal and who is not.

The only problem I have when we rent a golf cart is not enough cup holders!

Oh, and on those cold Thanksgiving Week trips during the night, I really think they should install a heater in them :P. When it's 32 degrees out with 20 MPH winds and you're driving back to your camper, after being gone all day and you're not dressed that warmly, you really could use a heater...lol.

Here you go, but it will take up one of the few cupholders.

Great, so now I have a solution that only adds to my other problem. Heat, but one less cupholder. What to do?!?!?! lol ;)

Good for you for standing up to them and getting a CM involved! I'd given thos cart drivers what for too.

I have always said, "Just because you think your 16 year old can drive, doesn't mean they should be given the keys."
You know what they say, "One bad apple will spoil the bunch"...I sure hope it doesn't come to that. But, I am surprised that the Fort still offers them.
Anyone remember when you use to be able to rent a golf cart and actually drive it into the downtown market place from the Disney Institute/Village Resort? I bet that got stopped due to someone getting hurt.
Those were the days....

Wow - what a shame. It would be sad if carts became a thing of the past because of some who don't think rules apply to them.

We've stayed in the cabins for many years. It was a rite of passage for each of our three children to be of age to drive the cart. A better memory for them than being allowed to "break the rules."

Since we are now "empty nesters", we started staying at Wilderness Lodge. We miss the cabins and will return in November. Thanks for the "heads up". If we see recklessness (regardless of age), we will also report.

The sad thing with the carts is that its only a matter of time before the private cart priviledges are revoked...........Then the cryin will beginpopcorn::

If they try that then they shoudnt even rent them, double standard, because people will do the same thing with the Disney carts, I will raise hell!!!

Think about the disney cash cow.........private carts = zero cash.......cart problems (private or rented)= private will fall too the sword 1st.....:teacher:

It's really no double standard at all. It allows them more control over the traffic and vehicles being used on property. It is their private property, and they can establish and enforce any rules they want within legal boundaries. They are making money off cart rentals, and it really is no different than a restaurant not allowing outside food in their establishment.

lol, more private golf carts going away talk. Can we keep this based on what is fact right now? :)

I hear they are changing the reservation system, and you won't be able to book in off peak and pay the low rates into peak. Some people may not like it, but I will think that it will open up more spots.
