My husband and I are planning to spend one of our days at WDW this year away from the parks and treat ourselves to a day of golf (for Greg) and spa (for me). We're planning to use our Discovery Magic wishes to make the most of the experience.

Does anyone have suggestions on the best golf courses to play at WDW? Greg's leaning toward Osprey Ridge, but he's interested in hearing anyone's opinions to make an educated decision. He's a pretty seasoned golfer, so he wants to play one of the more challenging courses.

I'm going to the Spa at the Disney Institute. For anyone who has been there recently, please tell me your impressions and what services you enjoyed! I'd love to book every service, but our budget is just a bit too limited for that idea! ;)

Thanks! All comments are welcome and appreciated!

I have played all 99 holes of golf at Disney and love them all. Although I play from the ladies tees, I think the most challenging is the Palm course. It seems narrowe-er than the other courses (at least to this lady). However, Osprey Ridge is the most scenic and one of my favorites. I think he would love Osprey but if he is a 'seasoned' golfer he may prefer to play Palm or Magnolia - the same courses the pros play in October. Can't get more challenging than those two.

Thanks for the suggestions! Greg is pretty sure he's going to stick with Osprey Ridge. I guess that means we have to return to WDW after this trip so he can try the other courses sometime (woohoo)! :D

spiceycat...

What type of spa services are offered at OKW and how would I find out the cost? Do you need to make reservations? Thanks for any info!!

Is there a price list for the spa treatments offered at the Disney Institute? The site spiceycat gave is really good and lists the treatments, but how much will these wonderful sounding treatments set me back? Any preferences for each treatment?

Thanks and have a great day.

P.S. I believe DC members receive 10% off of treatments at the Disney Institute.

Guests can receive a Spa Treatment Menu booklet with descriptions of services and prices from the Disney Institute by sending an email to: WDW.DI.Group.Reservations@disney.com or calling (407) 827-4455.

The prices look very reasonable to me compared to other spa experiences I've tried (i.e. most 50 minute treatments range from $50 for manicure/pedicure services to $90 for the warm seafoam mud wrap). There are also 80 minute services for most menu items. If you have 2-5 hours to spend in the spa, there are half and full-day programs available.

For anyone who would like to use wishes from one of the vacations plans (i.e. Resort Magic, Discovery Magic, etc.), the services at the Spa at DI you can use wishes for are:

50 minute Swedish Massage (2 wishes)
50 minute Sports Massage (2 wishes)
50 minute Ultimate European Facial (2 wishes)
50 minute manicure or pedicure (2 wishes)

Guest can mix a spa package using both wishes and credit card, cash, etc.

I'm booked for a few services at the Spa at Disney Institute at the beginning of December so I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks again for the comments!
