They always have professional help on the days of the Red Carpets. I remember one nominee saying she started 6 hours before the Oscars.

Meanwhile, her husband played basketball that morning, showered, ate, then just jumped in his tux, combed his hair & was pretty much ready to go.
Also, the women get mud wraps, massages, facials, saunas, waxing, etc., scheduled days before the event to even out all their skin. And they probably get wrapped in plastic - or some such nonsense to loose a few pounds.
I saw Meryl Streep really close up when she was in town filming
The Devil Wears Prada. She was standing on the sidewalk in front of me. All I could say was, "WOW!!!" My friends turned to me & agreed.

She had the most amazing skin. It was absolutely creamy and flawless. I'm sure she had mud wraps galore, during that shoot. It was such a fashion conscious movie. The topper was that she has no botox! Go Meryl!
