Golden Globes

I didn't listen to it, but DH thought it was hilarious.

Ugh! I missed the first 5 minutes & have been watching all night to see if George Clooney would be on. Tuning into this thread, I can't believe I missed him. :(

Win #2 for Hele Mirren

Any wins for Grey's, Lost or Hereos? (been hoping for a Milo sighting all night)

Grey's won best drama.

The Heroes cast was on earlier to present the best actor award. I saw Milo then.

*thud*

Milo will do that to me and Last King won drama actor

All those jokes about Leo and he doesn't even win!

I did see The Departed, and he was amazing in that role.

That speech was disgusting. I usually fast forward through the speeches but was caught up and had the misfortune of hearing that mess.

There's no way you can find buttcheeks and testicles unfunny, especially when they belong to an overweight Russian.

Leo's got time. He's a young puppy still in the movie world. There will be plenty of other vehicles for him. This was probably Forrest's only chance to win. He's been acting forever in small, looked-over roles. Great leading roles for African Americans are rare.

I think it is bad to be nominated twice in the same category. I bet his votes were split and probably would have done better if he had just one nomination.

Pure speculation on my part. :upsidedow

They would give Arnold a one word title to say! :rotfl2:

One of the magazines I read (Entertainment Weekly, I think) predeicted that this would happen. Leo would split votes between both roles, and Forest Whitaker would win. I'm glad for Forest Whitaker, but I did want Leo to win.

I don't believe the Oscars will allow a person to be nominated more than once in the same category, so this won't happen again.

Why do people always say this when a certain person they want doesn't win? (Not flaming here. :) )

Helen Mirren was nominated twice in a single category and won. It wasn't until she got up there & repeated it was for Queen Elizabeth, that I knew WHICH role she won for.

Tonight, Clint Eastwood was nominated twice & he won also. So that statement just doesn't necessarily apply.

Like I said, speculation.

Like I said, speculation.

I know. :) I just feel bad for the person who does win when this is said. Like they won by default & didn't deserve it. It seems to take away from their win.
