Any input on the Golden Corral buffet? How much does it run and is the food any good?
Thanks!

I usually do Golden Corral for their breakfast which is about $6-$7 and includes a drink, for dinner and lunch it's probably a few more bucks.I think their food is pretty good and the only time I wasn't happy with my visit was at a location in Palm Bay which obviously has less visitors than the Orlando locations and the food looked like it was sitting around a bit, that usually doesn't happen at the Orlando locations as they're busier.Their biggest competitor is Ponderosa who I think is pretty good as well but I think Golden Corral has more things in the buffett.

My family and I enjoy the Golden Corral and their cost is something like $6.99 a person for lunch and $9.99 for dinner. Also in those various Orlando attrraction books they have various coupons for 10% off and other types of coupons, so you might want to look for them. Besides that I think the various foods they offer are very good. Finally there are several locations in Orlando, however my family and I enjoy their brand new one in Kissimmee which is located at 7702 W. IRLO BRONSON HWY.

:lmao: That is always where my Dad wants to go when we are in Mobile, AL. It was really good the other night. I like the salad bar. It is very reasonable.

We love the Golden Corral and always eat there at least 2-3 times each stay. We never go out for breakfast, so it is usually a late lunch or dinner. We find the price very reasonable for a family of 4 and lots of selection so there is something for everyone. They have steaks, meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken, turkey, macaroni & cheese, several varieties of potatoes and vegetables, salad bar, fresh baked rolls and desserts. The food is always very good. We have eaten at both the Apopka Vineland location in Lake Buena Vista and the one on 192. We like Apopka Vineland better but both are good.

Although not DW fave place we go usually once each trip. Went again last week.
Evening price is now $11.99 + drink. We had vouchers which brought it down to $8.99.
Also had buffet at Trails end $18.99 (incl soda) only a small selection but really nice food, love their ribs.
Our fave buffet is Sweet tomatoes, around $9 each great value very fresh. homemade soups. We usually get sent buy one get one free vouchers from Club veg. Join on their site.

we have just returned today.we were there for 10 nights & must have ate there, about 8 times.
fancy restaurants, aren't for us & we would rather eat, where the grandaughter enjoys.every day,it was her choice & the answer was always the same,GOLDEN CORRAL.it suited us fine,as food,is never a big part of our holiday,as we are usually too tired.as long as she ate well,we were happy.
we went to the t-rex cafe, one afternoon & for the 7 of us,the bill was more than double & she came out & said,we should have gone, the golden corral, typical!
i tended to have meat & veg, with mash & really enjoyed it & the banana pudding, was delicious:)

I guess I will go against the grain here. Personally I find Golden Coral food quality to have gone down hill lately. The locations in Orlando have higher prices than here at home. For the quality of the food, I don't find we get our moneys worth.

We only tried it once, for breakfast. I'm not even a big breakfast person in the US (nothing beats a fried Scottish breakfast, sorry...) but my kid absolutely loved the place and stuffed himself like no other time on the holiday.

The food did look good tho and very fresh, plenty of choice. We also had an excellent server who wasn't slow with refills for coffee and OJ.

Like Tracy (Keiras nana) above, I would go back just for the simple fact my kid likes it and I know he will eat well there, since he can be a bit fussy sometimes.

Wayne, sweet tomatoes is definitely on the "to do list" for our April visit ;) I'll need to have a look for them voucher things you were talking about :teeth:

This shows you todays menu. Click on Club Veg and register Orlando 1 location. Put in your birthday as day you travel, they should send you buy one get one free voucher & 15% off voucher a few days before you go, valid for 14 days.
Last year they didn't send many vouchers, this year I have been getting them most months.
