I'd love to get in on the swap (we're at WDW from 12/3 - 12/13) however, I'm a little concerned - I've gone through the entire swap list from the budget board, and I'm seeing several people signed up for 2 and 3 different fridge swaps for the same dates.

For example - UkieMouse is signed up for this swap (swap 6 on the list) on 11/29 - 12/7, for Krystal's FREE Pop Swap (swap 3 on the list), and for the *Nost So Scary* Fridge/Toaster/Coffee Pot swap (swap 17 on the list) for the same dates. I realize that sometimes people need 2 fridges if they have 2 rooms, but is it really fair for them to take up 3 different swaps?

I realize that I didn't buy the fridges, but it seems a bit unfair that more people aren't able to get in on the swaps because one person/family is on 3 different lists, possibly because they just want to make sure they get one.

Even if we aren't able to participate in a swap while we're at Pop, if me saying something allows others to be able to get in on the swaps, then something good has occured.

Many people go to WDW with an extended family or friends (Grand Gatherings). If only one person in their group is on the Disboards or is organizing everything you will see that person listed on 2 or more swaps. One of the main reasons we advise everyone to make contact 2-3 weeks ahead is to verify the fridge will be in use by the listed person. I have only had one person "disappear" in the 2 years I have run the swap. As you can see many swappers make these plans up to a year in advance.
You always have the option of PM the person to ask if they would be willing to give up one of the fridges. I also had that happen when someone did plan on using 2 but felt sorry for the asker and was kind enough to give one up.
Another option would be to start another swap but this past summer a number of fridges went missing making the ones still going even harder to get into. Good Luck. I hope you are able to get one of the fridges.
(BTW I decided just recently to add another trip in Dec and my own fridge swap is filled so it looks like I will be out of luck also).

Just got back. I got the fridge no problem, thanks wdwmaw and left it for Grtwhitenorth. I did leave some coffee in there I did not use with a note since it is Gevalia and I had to put it in ziplock bags.

Just to inform you LyssaLovesStitch, I have three fridges as we are a grand gathering, and these fridges are notorious for going missing. We were in a swap last year and the fridge went missing the week before we were to arrive. This year as we are travelling with an 8 month old, I want to be assured that we have a fridge to keep her food properly stored, and the same for the rest of family.

I think I'm going to have to drop out of the swap. I've had such a hassle getting the fridge from luggage services in the past that I don't think I can handle it on my own with the 2 kids, to have it for only part of our trip.

So, 1/29/11-2/2/11 is back open (unless there was already a back up swapper).

Is it Really hard to get a frig from luggage services? First time in a swap and mana liz posted that they are dropping out so unless it is taken again I will have to get it from luggage services. What do you have to do to get it from them?

I have not had a hard time getting the fridge from luggage services. You usually just have to give luggage services your name and they will bring the box out on a cart already. You can have them bring it to your room too if you wish. I always tip the guy when I drop it off and when I pick up and never had a problem. They will ask for your license when you get a hand cart but just make sure you get it back and you should be all set.

I agree and you are confirmed (for months now) and welcome to yse the fridge anytime for any reason (at POP of course )

Sorry to hear you are dropping out. I have always had very nice CM that have gone above and beyond to help me.

I have never had any trouble. I have used a fridge 3 times and have always had great CM help me. It is usually just DD16 and I. They help me unpack and pack it in the box then set it up with no problems. I have even been allowed in the back to see their system. Finally, when it was lost one time they were very helpful on the phone in locating it.

Actually, I can give you the fridge for your entire stay! We are not cancelling but we decided to use our new DVC membership to stay at AKV. So good news for both of us.
