Hello,

I am thinking about planning a adventure trip or maybe just a Disney cruise for overseas for 2016. At the time my boys will by 4 and 3. Has anyone done this before or any suggestions? Maybe if we can get a baby sitter for that long my husband and I can go solo but very doubtful.

Thanks for any advise!!

I wouldn't even consider ABD with a 3 year old as the youngest age listed is 4. Even with a 4 year old, it would be a challenge. My son was 5 1/2 and the youngest on the Southwest trip. He did ok, but the vast majority of the kids were 7+. They wouldn't likely have as many kids their own age to bond with on the trip and that is a large benefit of ABD. The kids bond and adults can enjoy time with other adults. It's a lot of money and you could pay a sitter a handsome fee for allowing you and your husband to enjoy an ABD though!

You can't do a ABD with a 3 year old as the minimum age is 4 or even older on some trips. I think the trips are too much for a 4 year old.

Even if there weren't an age limit, I wouldn't take such young kids on a trip like this. It would be not be much fun for any of you.

Having done several ABDs and several Disney Med/Baltic cruise I can definitively say a DCL med or Baltic cruise is the way to go with children under 7. I took my oldest son on an ABD at age 7 and he was the youngest. Most kids will be 10 and up.

From what I've heard, ABD is quite strict about the age limits, too.

... a 3 and 4 year old probably would enjoy just going on a cruise, though! :)

(assuming you mean a regular DCL cruise)

We have done a few ABD trips as well as two Med cruises. I feel that a Med cruise with your young ones would be quite easy at this time. On our cruises there were a large number of families with young kids. The cruise lines are quite well accustomed to care in the kids' clubs as well as private babysitting in cabin offered. Even the shore excursions are geared towards families. DCL sometimes runs "kids sail free" on some sailings. We took advantage of one such sailing. Also since your kids are not in school you can take advantage of the "shoulder season" before the high tourist season of Europe and prices such as airfare is less expensive . As previous posts have stated I do think your kids are a little too young to enjoy an ABD trip.:)

Many hotels in Europe do not accept quad bookings, regardless of age.

You might be forced too book two rooms.
