You guys were so helpful to me when I needed scooter help for DH a few years ago, so I wanted to post this here for help. Many thanks in advance. Mt DD will be in the middle of an IVF cycle when we go down to Disney next month, so she will have to carry on her progesterone in oil, a whole bunch of needles and a sharps container. Is there anything special we have to do to get this stuff through the TSA checkpoint? Any advice would be helpful.

You can contact TSA care for help with the check point and let them know what you need to bring

When I travelled with my IVF medicines (now this was several years ago) I requested they hand check the medication which I had in a separate bag. I also had the prescription on the medication so there was no question. I think I had a backup doctor's note just in case there was a problem. Anyway it took an extra five minutes. I told every TSA agent I met in my journey to the front that I had medication that could not go through the screeners and needed to be hand checked.

oh you can request a sharps container at the hotel you are staying at (assuming you are staying at a hotel) and if you need to dose while travelling, most airport bathrooms and Disney bathrooms have sharps containers. If they don't first aid will.

Even though this is new to you, TSA seems thousands of people per day with medications, so it’s not new to them.

We travel al, the time with our daughter’s multiple medications. One piece of advice is to put the medications and syringes and needles into clear ziplock bags so TSA agents can see what is inside and you can pull the bag out if they want you to . They may or may not do additional screening on them; it depends on the airport and also somewhat on the volume of liquid. They normally don’t question syringes and needles that are needed to administer medication you are carrying.

good luck on your trip and your fertility journey!

Right, there won't be that much liquid BUT it absolutely cannot go through the x-ray. It's very light sensitive. I will let everyone know.

There's no need to worry about the sharps/sharps containers. My partner and I each have injectable medications and travel with supplies wherever we go, and never once has there been an issue. You can keep them in a separate ziploc if you're worried about it, but we've never needed to pull them out or explain anything.
