I love the dis boards!!! I came across them last year as I found myself going to be setting sail on a Disney cruise!!!!!! We sailed this past June and had the absolute best vacation ever. It was magical and left us hungry for another. But that is for another forum....

A few weeks ago my husband announced that his professional organizations annual conference was going to be held in ORLANDO!!!! What???!!!! My response was we are soooooo going. He was like of course.

A little bit about our family....my husband and I have had annual passes to DL since 1996. We fell in love there as it was where we dated. We were poor college students so since we had passes it was where we always went: To watch the fireworks; to ride space mountain and go back to the dorms. That was the easy life! Well we have now been married for 15 years and have been blessed with two kids: DD 7 Alyssa and DS 5 Tyler. My kids now have annual passes and are just as crazy about DL as we are!!!

So our trip is April 28 through May 3, Thursday through Tuesday. I know it is super short!! I wish we could extend it but the kids are already missing four days of school, and my husband can't miss any more work. The great part is that we are taking a red eye the night of the 27th so at least the 28th doesn't have to be a travel day. Living in Southern California means we have a loooooooong trip. I may regret the red eye with my children but I should at least live to tell about it, right?

I don't have many details planned yet. I know when we are going and how we are getting there. Yes I bought our airline tickets already. And yes I know where we are staying...wait for it.....The Grand Floridian Club Level. Since it is a business expense, I figured we could stay in style! I am so excited to stay here.

My kids have never been to Disney World. I have only been once, and it was in 2006. My husband has been twice: in 2006 with me and when he was in junior high. So I wouldn't call us experts! Disneyland is an entirely different story, of course. As soon as I started researching on the dis I was overwhelmed. So many ACRONYMS!!! Yikes! MK ADR FP+ GF and on and on they go! You don't really think about this stuff at DL. So I have a lot to cover and learn! Since we basically only have 5 days, I need to determine what are must dos and must eats will be. Any suggestions are welcomed!

At this point, I have begun to look at each park. Reading about food and attractions. I figure we will dedicate one day to each park and the extra time to either MK or Epcot, depending on what we don't get to or what we all seem most interested in. I don't know if this is a good strategy or not.

I suppose that is it for the beginning of this report. I should close with a picture. Face to the story right....so let's see..........My really cute kids and the hubby and I.

Here we go, let the planning begin!

Good morning fellow Disney friends! So today was a bit of a sad morning for this mommy.....back to school! My son started kindergarten today and daughter 2nd grade. They were both so confident and happy. We had such a great summer but I just can't believe my baby boy is in kindergarten. . Here they are.....

image.jpgSorry for poor picture quality but you can still see there cuteness! So needed to do something to lift my spirits....Disney world trip planning of course.

Most recently I have been thinking about tickets for our stay. We all have premium annual passes to DLR. I am trying to decide if I should upgrade us to premier passes for our trip, do 5 day park hopper tickets, or one park per day tickets. Seems the possibilities are endless! I am just not sure what we will want to do. It would be nice to have an "all access" pass per se...but not sure if it is necessary for our short trip. Any advice?

The funny thing about the pass upgrade is all of our passes expire at a different time. It is how I budget and afford the premium passes. Instead of having 4 to renew at once, I have one a quarter. However I just realized my husbands expires on 5/1, which is right in the middle of our trip!!! So I don't think it will make sense to upgrade his pass. That would cost way too much. Plus, he actually has to go to a conference while we are there. I can't seem to find the cost of a premier pass online. I have searched Disney's website, but I think I have to purchase at the park. So my homework for our next Disneyland park visit is to find out how much of a price difference there is. Then I will need to compare that cost with actual ticket costs. Alas, I cannot cross this off of my list yet.

Right now I am researching restaurants. I have to make all of these ADRS at the end of October, so I need to know where we want to eat. Thus far my list is comprised of:

Beaches and Cream
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Cinderella Royal Table
Be Our Guest
Akershaus Royal Dining Hall
Tepan Edo
Rose and Crown
Coral Reef
Spirit of Aloha Dinner show
1900 Park Fare
Hoop de Do Musical Revue

And I haven't even finished looking at all of the parks yet. Still need to research AK and DHS. Whew!! I have no idea how to narrow this down, but we can't eat it all What should I cross off?

Be back soon...255 days to go!!!
