going to wdw from ct-which way?

we are driving from fairfield, ct to wdw on 12/31. We are trying to decide which route - 84-81-64-95 or 84-81-77-26-95. we are basically going this route to avoid dc and tolls. which way is better? Faster? Any thoughts??

We live in New Haven area and although we never drive to WDW we did drive to HHI the last two summers. I am a bit terrified of I95 through DC and VA so we went 81-77-26-95 and found it to be a nice, pleasant ride. There were plenty of places to stop if you need to and the two times we drove that way we had no problems with traffic.

I second the 81-77-26-95 route. It was relaxing and pleasant.

Ok so Ian going to take this route. If I go over tapping zee bridge do I take 95 to 81. Sorry for the dumb question.

From the Tappan Zee bridge, I'd take 287 down to hit 78 West going towards Allentown, PA. When that highway ends at 84/81, head left til those separate down to just 81.
