Going to WDW during school year

We're staying off property, my sister-in-law has a time share that we'll all be staying at. It's going to be so exciting!!! I just got my Lime Green Mickey Heads so I'm ready to go............ maybe we'll see you there!!
I'm glad that our school is flexable but if they weren't I would be using the letter that Gizmo1951 posted. It's absolutely awesome!!!

A quick update...

I had a meeting with the new principal this morning and filled her in on our situation. She was more understanding than I could have ever imagined. :thumbsup2 I told her that I didn't want to book anything until I cleared it with her and she told me to go ahead and make our reservations. There will be absolutely no problems. The great thing is DS got a teacher who has always worked for our new principal. No problems there either. Thanks to everyone for your responses. Now, the fun REALLY begins :bounce: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We go every year in Feb and we still lots of families. So apparently there are lots of kids missing school. You have plenty of time to make sure your child stays on track and doesn't fall behind. Than when it gets closer to your trip ask for his work ahead of time and start doing the homework before you even leave for WDW. I know teachers don't like it when a kid misses school (I have a daughter that is a teacher) but sometimes the older we get the more we understand. I have never been in your prediciment but I can understand it. Don't waste your time feeling guilty. Just have a great vacation.
