Going to Vero from BWV...

We are splitting our first time "home" vacation between Vero and BWV. We will be 5 days at each. Our dilemna is..we need to rent a car to drive to Vero. We really would not need the car when staying at BWV. So, how do we get a car half way into our vacation (if even possible)? And, anyone ever done anything creative when doing the same thing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

National Car Rental has a desk inside the Dolphin Hotel. On our last trip I walked over and picked up our car while DW was packing. It was a snap, and there wasn't any extra charge for dropping it off at the airport.

We have done BWV and Vero in the same vacation. In addition to National, Avis has a desk at the Hilton in Downtown Disney. They advertise pick up service. There is no drop-off fee when you get back to Orlando airport after Vero. I would reserve in advance as soon as possible, though, because while the daily and weekly rates are quite reasonable in advance, especially with AAA or other membership, the walk-up rates can be high. The drive to Vero is simple - 417 to 528 near the airport, then across to either 95 or AIA, our preference for the slow unwind on the way to Vero.

Last year we stayed at the Poly and at the end of our stay we rented a car because we were going to the Florida west coast. It was not a problem, we called National Car Rental which has a facility on the Disney property and also has a van service. The ride from the Poly was no more than 5 min. I am certain they will pick up any Disney guest.

We split a vacation between BWV and VB, but we had a car the whole time, picking up and dropping off at MCO. Since you are looking for a car for 5 days, it may be price effective to rent it for a week. Then you are only adding 3 days to a weekly rental to have the car for 10 days. You would save on any transportation costs from the airport, it costs nothing to park at WDW and the rates from MCO may be better, esp. if you are in Emerald Club for National and use the EA at the airport. I admit that we love having a car at WDW. We always drive to the water parks and find a car useful for nightime dining, esp. if you are going to another resort. Long answer--- but my point is consider a full time rental as you price out your 5 day rental
