Ok, I am in the slow process of selling DVC to my husband and I need ammo! I am a Disney nut, love the place, am a different person when I'm there. DH however says, we have been there done that. By the way I have that on by licence plate cover but ends with Going back!

DH doesn't want every vacation to be at Disney, not even every other one! I am heart broken. So I need some points as to why we should buy into DVC. I have seen on the rent board that someone has a timeshare at HH (not disney) with a tennis club and wants to trade points for Disney. DH is a BIG tennis player. Is this done, successfully? Also, has anyone been able to get a tennis pro over to one of the tennis courts near a DVC? Last Nov when we were there DH was at the tennis at the Contemporary and the pro said they were tearing down the tennis there for a DVC there. (Now, I am not trying to start any rumors!! This is only want was told to DH. Goodness knows he should not saying anything like that to me to get my mind thinking of things like that!)

But I degress, so please send over some ideas! Thanks! I love these boards!

We have been timeshare owners since 1993, and DVC owners since 1995. It is without question, the best purchases/investments that we ever did. Although we use DVC for Disney vacations, the trading potential is unlimited. We have friends that have used their DVC ownership for limited Disney vacations, but have been to super resorts, including Monterey and Hawaii. I expect that will change when the grandchildren come along. Make a deal that you will trade into a tennis resort when he needs a fix, and you will go to WDW when you need a fix.

In two weeks, we will be meeting our daughter and three grandchildren at the Beach Club Villas, and the week after that our oldest granddaughter will be in WDW with her high school musical groups. Both families live in MN, so we are only slightly excited to be able to see them. We could never afford a trip like that without our timeshare purchases.

Good luck. Email me if I can be of any help.

Here's an idea. Buy a small resale contract, and plan to use it every three years for a nice WDW vacation. If you find a 50 point contract, you can bank and borrow those points to have 150 to use every three years. That way everyone is happy - you get your DVC and hubby gets two years of "his choice" to one of yours. Plus, once you get him there and he sees how nice it is, you'll probably be adding on!!!

I agree with DVCliz- you should get a smaller contract, which are only available thru resale.

If you like beach vacations VB is awesome and you can split your stay between Disney and VB if you decide to do a 150 point contract. They do have Tennis courts in VB.

But in reality, the 150 point contract only gets you 6 to 7 nights in a 1 bedroom every year. If you have more than 1 week vacation you could go where he wanted to for that vacation since this one will be prepaid. If he doesn't like Disney, you DH would love staying in the 1 bedroom and if you get a resort like the BW or BC, ESPN is right there with 100 TV's so you could do the parks and he could do what he wanted to. Also the BC has tennis courts on the yacht club side of the resort.

Good luck.
